D I S C O N T I N U E D Ve·to /ˈvēdō/ (Latin for "I forbid") The power to unilaterally stop an official action. Since the beginning of time, Devils and Angels have been enemies. They were complete opposites. They stood for different things. Angels were associated with good, purity, and the truth. Devils were associated with evil, mischief, and lies. Millenniums ago, a Great War took place in the middle grounds of Heaven and Hell. No Man's Land. The battle lasted centuries before the leaders of both parties surrendered. To prevent another war from taking place, a veto was installed. From that point in time forward, a Devil could never touch an Angel, and an Angel could never touch a Devil. If they did, both the Angel and the Devil would be banished from both Heaven and Hell, and be forced to be stripped of their wings and imprisoned in a place only known as Limbo, the place of lost souls. For an Angel or a Devil to be considered a true immortal, they must work and earn their horns and halos. It's not easy, but if the Angel or Devil in training desires a chance at earning their immortality, they must train for it. Every one of them must go through four years of the standard procedure. When the celestials arrive, they are immediately paired up with a mortal somewhere on earth. They will also have a partner, or rather, a rival. They must persuade their humans to make the morally good or bad decision in every possible situation to gain points. Points that would allow them a better chance of earning their horns and halos. After four years of proving their worthiness, the higher ups will grant that individual full accessibility to their halo or horns, allowing the celestial to either cause mischief or good wherever they roamed. Earning your halo or your horns also allows the Angel or Devil to visit the higher ups and ask for one wish. One wish that could change the rest of time...
