A simple book of a collection of poetry pieces written and published by Bree Bolton. • A smile with colors of the rainbow, so bright and shining it could bring a god to their knees. A frown so destroyed and filled with pain, it could make a grown man cry. While being such opposite things, so far distanced in our minds, it's hard to believe they came from the same person. But they do and every day, a color fades away. That's just how life is. • I have always been in love with poetry, from the way poets can make words as simple as blue sky sound so wonderfully full of meaning. I've envied the way their writing has a whole different meaning to each person that reads it and I've researched their techniques, studying how they do so well at their craft. I've always wanted to write poetry, simple words with simple meanings, put together to form unimaginable problems and unfathomable joy, all while easily concealing the deeper meaning behind a lovely wrapped exterior. From the outside, a poem can appear to be about how rain falls so beautifully, it seems peaceful and lovely to some, yet it terrifies and pains so many others. But to me, that story could represent my unhappy childhood, something that is so amazing and nostalgic to some, yet for me and so many others it just hurts and reopens old wounds. Maybe my friend reads and thinks of her struggles with her father, while another person reads it and thinks of a fight they had with their friend. Maybe some read it, and just see a bittersweet poem about how everyone enjoys things differently - and that's what it's all about. People enjoy and understand things differently, that's what makes the world such a creatively individual place. And thats what makes poems so special. So I hope you understand what I am trying to accomplish here, merely being a space to explore with the world of poetry, and enjoy my favorite form of writing. This is: My Love. By: Bree Bolton
