When Elle's mom passes away, she's ashamed that rather than only feeling sad, she finally feels free. After her mom's catastrophic accident, her dad quickly walked out, leaving a teenaged Elle to become her mothers primary carer. Now aged 24, with a hefty settlement in the bank she was finally in a position to think only about herself for the first time ever. Within weeks she had booked a budget flight and hostel in Milan, where on day one an older gentleman Henry asked to share his table at a pavement side cafe but also unwittingly, his place in the middle of a paparazzi malstrom. The next morning Elle answers the door to her room to Sebastian Wolfe, a face many would recognise immediately as it has graced the cover of every major magazine in the world. Elle on the other hand, sheltered from the world recognises him as a younger version of Henry. To avoid a scandal destroying his father's fifth marriage, to Sebs favourite stepmother he insists Elle play along as Henry's future daughter-in-law not his lover. Convincing the world that she had shared nothing more than food with Henry seems to be a much easier task than convincing the man at her side.
