It is one of the many types of Tongue cancer. Like other cancers, it occurs when cells divide uncontrollably and become growth, like a tumor. There are two types. One is called Tongue cancer because it affects the part you can lose. The second occurs at the root of your tongue, where it attaches to your throat. This type, called or opharyngeal cancer, is usually diagnosed after it has spread to the lymph nodes in the neck. Symptoms: One of the first symptoms of tongue cancer is a lump or ulcer on the side of the tongue that does not disappear. It can be pink-red. Sometimes the wound bleeds when you touch or bite it.
