---------- I looked down from the century-old bridge. I admired the moon's reflection that shone over the trees onto the calm water below. It seemed so peaceful, it was quiet. Apart from the heavy breaths coming from the boy who had just run a mile to the bridge, I, Nathan Pierce, the town's 'gifted' kid/ special kid/ perfect kid, was about to jump from the exact bridge he was stationed on the railing of. "Pierce what are you doing?!" the boy yells at me. And that's the moment I realize who has been delaying my leave. Of course, it's Mr. Perfect Smile. Instead of answering his questions I roll my eyes and get ready to fall under I'm pulled back to the more stable part of the bridge. "The hell was that for Beck?" I yell at Mr. Perfect Smile, he ruined the moment all my problems would be solved. "You can't kill yourself, Pierce," he says as if that will do anything, I try to get up but realize he's on top of my body. I grunt and try to push him off me. "Get off me Beck," I say but he doesn't. "Nathan please stop." ----------- What happens when Nathan Pierce, the perfect boy, is put into a situation that causes the boy with the perfect smile, Elliott Beck, to not leave him alone? And save his life, or try. Will Nathan just have to endure ignoring Elliott until the end of junior year? Or will the two boys form a bond with each other?
