Tara Lasso has always been told that she is remarkably like her father. Unwaveringly optimistic, kind to everyone she comes in contact with, and tries to be a light in an otherwise scarily dark world. She's also like her father in some negative ways...such as her potentially crippling anxiety, which she has been trying to navigate since she was a kid. Tara found that the best thing that helped her anxiety was writing. She started out journaling about her feelings, but then she began to venture out into fiction writing, falling in love with the craft and dedicating her life to it. She went to college and majored in English, and has since been trying and failing to find the inspiration to write her first book. In the midst of a rocky relationship with her mother, Tara's father Ted Lasso decides to take a job coaching a premier football League in England. Tara, being overwhelmingly concerned about her father, as well as having never been outside of the US, drops everything and moves across the world with him, in the hopes of finally getting the inspiration she's been looking for. What she finds instead, is a second family full of love, acceptance... And a footballer named Jamie Tartt.
