The year is 1900s and Agnes Newman can manage. Everything is fine, at thirteen she takes care of her little sister Beth and herself without the help of anyone. She works in a factory not far from their small flat, she is independent. However, after a broken wrist incident and the newly manifested illness of her little sister, perhaps her Uncle's many invitations to come live with him and his wife have found a new appeal, a more desperate one.
