Elodie Price had never heard the soft breeze of the wind or the sound of birds singing in the trees.

After losing her older brother and her mother, the world had become grey. Ten years old, and already the universe had stripped her of everything. She couldn't see any reason to keep moving, no one to protect her. The Walkers would find her soon enough. With her hearing loss, she wouldn't even hear them coming. She could barely hear the world screaming around her.

Her mother had always been harsh - never quite satisfied with anything Elodie did - and her brother distant. The little bits of love that trickled through, the faint scraps of affection, always seemed to slip through her fingers like water. She didn't belong. Not to them, not to anyone.

So when she had come to the conclusion that maybe it was her turn to go, she never expected anyone to care. She never expected anyone to save her.

Certainly not someone like Daryl Dixon.

updates set in season 5

(the earlier chapters truly suck in my opinion, so once you get to like chapter 10 or so it gets better :,P)

I picked up every article of clothing as I heard the water streaming from behind the curtains. Folding her clothes on near where she kept her shoes, I stripped off my clothes, and stepped into the shower with her. My hands wrapped around her waist, as I stick my face in the crook of her neck. I started to do a trail of kiss up to the back of ear. The tension on shoulders started to break slowly as I kiss each inch of her skin. I'd been so worried about how she is mentally doing since the death of Lori. She hadn't processed much after the little nugget was birthed. She jumped into action immediately after, coming with me to get formula, and didn't stop until we got back to our mattress. Which she didn't sleep much and I followed her out as she let's out what she had been holding all day. I also have been holding back something for the past couple weeks. And I want to be able to tell her, but with everything going on, I'm not sure when it's appropriate time. Hell, the words have never been formed in my mouth. Not even with my brother. So instead of talking verbally, I let myself speak physically. Her body turned to me, giving me a heated kiss. When I pushed her to the wall of the bathroom, it was game over for the both of us. - - - The Walking Dead AU Daryl Dixon x OFC 𝐁.𝐃.𝐃. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐜 (𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝟏)

A/N: This is the updated version of FYD <3 Y/n L/n was your average college student before the world went to shit. She lived in Atlanta with her childhood friend, Glenn, and had never once left the city after she had moved there, apart from the occasional visit to see her Mother, whom was hospitalised in another state. However, the end of the world changed that, forcing her to leave the city and wander the highway. Permanently. When the city was overrun, she was separated from Glenn and forced to flee the city, which she hadn't left for years. With no idea where to go or what to do, she simply wandered down the highway. And though she may have been a city kid, she was far from useless. She was used to fighting for her life and she was used to being alone, so to say the very least, she could handle whatever the end of the world threw at her. Equipped with her trusted bow, Lucy, and her fathers vintage revolver, she was ready for anything. Dead or otherwise. A few months after the 'End', Y/n eventually came across a lost little girl, and a group of survivors hurled up on a farm. She never was a people person and never got along too well with others, but she couldn't just abandon the girl. Would she find a home in this group? Would they become family? Or was she doomed to wander alone? Would she ever reunite with Glenn? Her family? And would she and a certain redneck ever get along? UPDATES: DAILY.
