Music blasted through the speakers of my beloved car as I pulled into the Walmart parking lot. Before getting out, I searched through the center console for one of my sunglasses, but the bright neon lights from the advertising signs were obnoxiously blinding. I admit, it might not have been one of my brightest ideas to venture out into public in my not-so-inconspicuous Dodge Challenger. To at least appear a bit less conspicuous, I had pulled the hood of my oversized hoodie over my head, successfully concealing my green roots. Great! Now I looked like a crazy person! The only reason I even came here was to see the mysterious girl again. Often, I had seen her wandering through the lonely aisles, randomly tossing all sorts of things into her shopping cart, including, of course, Takis, which I had recommended to her the last time we met. I liked her! More precisely, I enjoyed our casual chats at the checkout, and especially the fact that she seemed to have no idea who I was, or well, at least she didn't let on if she did. [Nothing goes as planned in Billie's life! Five years ago, she couldn't have imagined singing in huge arenas. But fame, the constant hustle around her, and the glory also have their downsides.]
