"That's the thing, Banner... I'm always angry." Artemis del Rey didn't ask to be what she was. But she knew she was a monster, you didn't have to remind her of that. She sees it every morning when she stares at herself in the mirror. But that doesn't make her feel any more proud of the monster she is. She has a good reason to close herself off from the world. During moments of intense rage, she transforms into something unthinkable. No, she doesn't turn into an angry green powerhouse when provoked but you still don't want to see her truly angry, for a brick red tiefling with horns that would even the renowned Loki, God of Mischief, jealous, would emerge. Who had a temper worse than Hulk's bad attitude. When Fury offers her a spot on Earth's Mightiest Defenders, she's hesitant but knows that being around others like her, who may actually understand her, may be the closure she actually needs to heal. She knows who she is and she isn't willing to let the world see her as she really is. She's already an outsider, she doesn't need another reason to be the odd one out.
