Juanita Monroe-Giancola was always a people pleaser. Doing stuff she didn't necessarily want to do just to make others happy and bring a smile on their face and brighten up their day.

Especially after the death of her twin sister, Maria.

Juanita feels like it's her duty to become her mother's rock and follow into her footsteps, the way that Maria never would back when she was still alive, just to make their mom happy.

Then she meets a man named Marshall Mathers, a rebellious guy and an aspiring rapper that's always played it by his own rules, never giving too many fucks about anybody but himself.
