“Emma?” Nolan asked, slowly reaching a hand out to touch me. I flinched from the touch, taking a step back. I had never really feared for my life, more than I had at this moment. I was trying to swallow everything, but it was all too much. It felt like a whirl pool, sucking me in. I looked up to Nolan, his eyes searching mine, obviously wanting acceptance. But that just wasn’t something I could give. At least not right now. “I-I’m sorry, Nolan. I just can’t…” I mumbled, my voice coming out hoarse as I took a hesitant step back. “I h-have to go.” With that, I turned, and ran for my life. I didn’t want to think Nolan could kill me, but he had said it himself. He said he wouldn’t ever on purpose, but so many people were deceiving. I was honestly terrified. As I ran, I heard sobbing noise from behind me, followed by a growl a few moments later. As soon as a howl erupted into the sky, I couldn’t help but hope I’d make it home in one piece.
