Dillon Pike is seventeen and takes care of his insane mother. He'd rather be fighting than in school. He may not be the smartest kid around, but he sure knows what he wants. He then discovers he has a older brother and doesn't know if it's a good thing or not. He sees beauty in everything, especially Diane Roe, he meets her and immediately falls for her. Diane teaches him there's more to life than just fighting, there are more answers to the problem. This is as much work as breaking stones. "Maybe fighting is the only answer we have."
