Kelly. I can hear the crunch of my footsteps on the dried leaves, I can feel the cold breeze sending chills through my body, causing goose bumps to rise on my skin. “You’ve been pretty quiet,” his voice is low, gentle. If it was tangible it would feel like feathers. “Yeah, just…thinking,” I was hoping he wouldn’t ask me what it was that I was thinking of because my train of thought was being driven by an asylum escapee at the moment, there were no particular tracks being followed. The only constant was the warm body walking beside me. “Are we going to talk about what happened?” Darn it! I was really hoping he wouldn’t bring it up. I keep quiet. Hoping that maybe if I pretend I didn’t hear him he’ll let it go. “I know you heard me,” he smirks at me. No such luck. Sigh. What was it with him that he could read me so easily? “Do we have to?” I chance a glance at him, my eyes pleading. “Don’t give me those eyes love. Yes, we really do. I… I just wanna know what it meant.”
