Autumn Winters has an increasingly long list of things she hates: clichés, her nightmarish name, jeans with fake pockets, her cheating boyfriend, and of course, bagels. After her sixteenth birthday disaster in which she discovered her boyfriend was cheating on her with her best friend, Autumn wants revenge-not so much out of hatred for Toby, the said cheating scum, but out of anger from being trapped in an infuriating cliché. That cliché only grows after the school's bad boy heartthrob-who she despises-becomes her stepbrother-which results in moving in with his incredibly wealthy family. Between complicated revenge plans, nonstop banter between a certain bad boy that puts her at the top of every girl's hit list, and a stepmom with an obsessive love of bagels, her year just became a lot more memorable.
