Rules. Patakaran sa tahanan. Patakaran sa paaralan.
Laws. Batas ng lipunan. Batas ng Simbahan.
Andami-dami nila. Sa sobrang dami, they confuse me. Sa sobrang dami, iilan lang ang aking alam. Sometimes they rattle me. Sometimes they scare me. Sometimes they leave me speechless. Sometimes I feel like they dictate my every move, my choices. Sometimes they make me feel imprisoned. And a lot of times I feel the urge of breaking them.
In a perfect world that people want and try to create, it's man + woman = acceptable relationship. Man and woman get married, then go on to build a family. They are applauded. All out ang suporta ng pamilya. Hindi kinukuwestiyon ng lipunan o ng pananalig na kanilang kinabibilangan dahil ang kanilang pinili ay ayon sa batas, batay sa kulturang kinagisnan. Bawat anggulo ay matuwid.
In the more realistic world - man + man / woman + woman, an equation of unrestricted love and unrestrained emotions.
Sa maraming tahanan, it's forbidden. It's shunned. Itinatago. Kinikimkim.
Sa maraming lipunan, it's utter disrespect to their norms and cultures. It's not tolerated. It's scoffed at. Shamed. Mocked. It's breaking the laws of morality.
Hell! It's the kind of law, the ONLY law that I've got the courage to break.
Patas ang pag-ibig. Wala itong sinisino - pangit o maganda, mahirap o mayaman, maitim o maputi, bungi o sungki, mangmang o may pinag-aralan, pipi o bingi, bulag o duling, piki o sakang. Girl, boy, bakla, tomboy. Lampake!
Being gay is probably not something you thought you would become. It's not something that Mom and Dad would've wanted you to be, or that friends and relatives expected you to be. I never did. They never did.
But we become what we become. What we are is what we are. The heart wants what it wants. Happiness is ours for the taking. What matters is in our search for happiness, no one else's ends. If and when we can do that, we can never go wrong. All Rights Reserved
