Daniel Stone is diagnosed with schizophrenia and hospitalized at the age of 11. The truth of the matter however is that he can see the ghosts of people who have died but are still here waiting to be born again into their next life. His psychiatrist has been treating him since he was nine years old. His parents were referred to Dr Thoma when their son started "losing touch with reality". Over the years Daniel learns that Natasha Thoma is the only person he really trusts. On Daniels 13th birthday, tragedy strikes Natasha's life. Her wife of 6 years, Taryn, dies in a car accident on her way home from her college courses. She had been working part time while studying at night in order to help cover her mother's hospital bills. Often Daniel finds Natasha crying over her soul mate. Then it happens. Three months after Taryn's death he sees her. During one of Daniels daily sessions with Natasha he meets the ghost of her lover. Soul mates have a way of coming back to one another. This is the story of how Daniel learns what true love looks like.
