"In a world where no one is clean, what's the harm in a bit of acting?" The year is 1928 and Toni Perconte is suspicious. Crime is as common as a cold in Brooklyn, so when her best friend Geno Maglio surprises her with a ring worth more then he has ever made at the butcher's, Toni knew something stank. She just didn't expect to be a part of it. When a unexpected man comes to her work in need of a little "favor" and Geno comes home covered in blood, she has no option. Now Toni has to blend into a social scene she never wanted, to distract the son of someone she doesn't even know, to get some papers she knows nothing about. It's simple, but no one said it would be easy.
