The Animal Pact is the very first campaign on Wattpad advocating for animals.  This campaign account was essentially made in order to encourage the representation of ethical treatment of animals in literature. There are various stories involving animals on and off Wattpad, but their significance is seldom explored beyond that of a pet/friend.

One of our main reasons for bringing up this campaign is that a lot of people are generally unaware of the disgusting crimes done against animals, maybe due to the sheer lack of media representation. We think this is one of the best mediums to talk about animal welfare and we'd love to see books where characters mention about adopting an animal over buying or addressing the animal slaughter industries. We are not looking for aggressive characters that obnoxiously put down other characters for not following a certain lifestyle. We want this to be an amicable environment with lots of books including animals and human friendship! <3

Stories with an animal protagonist, an ethical vegan/vegetarian character, or even a chapter - regardless of the plotline, educating the readers about compassion towards animals via inclusion of discussions such as: not buying or wearing leather/fur, not supporting Seaworld, zoo and circuses, adopting an animal instead of buying from a pet shop, purchasing cosmetics which are not tested on animals, joining an animal rights NGO to volunteer, not hunting animals as a sport, etc. will be promoted on our public reading lists.
