flashback
"obliviate" were the last words that were spoken to you by some strange man that you never got a clear sight of. the battle of hogwarts had just ended and students who had fought were having their memories.
you woke up in a small apartment that had looked like you had been living there for the longest. you didn't know where you where until you looked outside and saw the great city of london. you didn't remember how you got there or even who you were. after you had a mental freakout about who you were and where you were you decided that you'd had just had way to much to drink the night before and this was just the result of a really bad hangover. you looked around the apartment you didn't know you had for any clue as to who or who you might be.
the people of the wizarding world had erased students memories and set up a whole new life outside of hogwarts for the students who had suffered the most trauma during the war. they allowed you to keep your name but took everything else you'd known. during the war, you had come into the path of bellatrix lestrange and she was merciless to you. she tortured you to the point where you felt like you were going to die. she hated you because of the status of your parents who were killed by voldemort when you were a little baby.
end of flashback: one year later
you were walking down the busy streets of london to your favorite café. the weather was brisk, but not too cold. you walked into the cute little coffee shop and made your way over to the counter.
"good morning, toby!" you say once it's your turn at the register.
"good morning, y/n! would you like your regular?" he says smiling at you.
"yes, please!" you say reaching into your bag for your wallet.
"on the house today, y/n." he says handing you your food before making your drink.
"awe thank you, tobs!" you reply putting a five dollar bill into the tip jar.
you grab your drink before sitting down your usual table in the corner of the shop right next to the window. you pull out your laptop to work on a project given to you by your boss. you work for a law firm, you study as an intern under a top notch lawyer.
you were pulled out of your thoughts when the bell to the coffee shop door jingled. you looked up to see a man with platinum blonde hair and captivating gray eyes. you watched the man as he looked up at the menu. something about him seemed vaguely familiar, but you had come to the conclusion that you would remember someone who looked like him.
you pulled your attention away from the man and back to your laptop. you hear the bell jingle once again and the man is gone. your friend behind the counter meet you at your table. he sat down for a second before talking to you.
"y/n, did you see that man?" he says smiling at you.
"mhm, he was gorgeous don't you think?" you say looking up at him.
"obviously. he's never been here before because i'd definitely remember him." him saying that made you once again remember that you felt as if he was familiar.
"hey, what was his name?" you ask.
"uh he ordered with the name draco. kind of a weird name huh?" he says looking back at door before getting up because two new customers had walked in.
"yea. weird." you say rummaging through your brain for anyone or anything that could be relating to this mystery man. toby goes back to work when more customers walk in, leaving you with your thoughts.
