Clarke's POV:

"Would you like me to be there with you?" Lexa asks. I nod my head and before we headed out to go meet my mom we went and looked in the mirror to cover up our 'hickeys'.

We walk through the hallways of the ark while I overthink the multiple ways where this could go wrong. Finally, we arrive at my mothers door. As I hesitate to knock on her door, Lexa holds my hand and gives it a squeeze to reassure me.

Before I could knock on the door my mom had opened it, me and Lexa quickly let go of each others hand in hopes that my mom hadn't seen it.

"Hey mom we got an idea for Dani, we were just about to tell you." I said in surprise.

"Oh perfect, I was just about to see you about that, come in." She said, opening her door wider so we could fit through. We walk in and sit on the two chairs beside the desk in the middle of the room. My mom quickly follows after closing the door behind us and sits on the chair the opposite of us.

"So what's your idea?" She asks curiously.

"Well we were thinking, what if Lexa and I take Dani in for now until there is a family who wants to adopt her." I say. My mom thinks to herself for second rubbing her chin.

"Yea, yea that could work. Great idea guys, is there anything else I'd like to know before I go?" My mom presumes, standing up from her chair assuming we don't.

"Umm yea there actually is." I say nervously. She sits back down "Ok, what is it?" She asks curiously.

I freeze, thinking about the next few seconds that could horribly go wrong. Lexa holds my hand under the table and I quickly snap out of it. I take a deep breath.

"Lexa and I," I freeze again, trying to spit out the words. It's so hard, why is it so hard to say these two simple words. I take another breath and finally get the courage to say it.

"Lexa and I are dating." I finally say. I look back at Lexa giving me a reassuring smile while she rubs the back of my hand with her thumb. Finally, I look to my mom with a proud smile on my face.

"Clarke, I know. I see the way you look at each other, you guys bring out the best in each other, and I'm so proud of you getting the courage to speak to me about that." My mom says grinning back at me.

"Wait, you knew? Are we really that obvious?" I respond back in surprise, wow I guess Raven was right.

"Yes of course I knew I'm your mother, plus I could see your hickeys. Next time, you guys try to hide your relationship, try to be more careful" She says pointing both at me and Lexa. We both let out a little laugh and get out of our chairs.

As we head out the door intertwining our hands we bumped into Raven and Octavia .

"Oh hey guys we were just heading to the cafeteria to eat dinner want to join? Also Dani is doing fine she's just reading a book." Octavia said. I look back at Lexa to make sure she's fine with it and agreed.

We walk through the multiple turns in the hallway of the ark with Octavia and Raven until we reach the cafeteria.

"You guys can find a place to sit while I get our foods" I suggest, they nod in  agreement as I head over to the table of food. I look over the options and there's not much. There's chicken, berries and veggies. I decide to place all the food options on the plate since there are not many to choose from.

As I struggle to hold all the plates I look over to where Lexa, Raven and Octavia are sitting. My eyes finally catches them laughing together as. I'm glad Lexa is getting along with them, I smile and quickly walk over there careful not to spill anything. I place the plates on the table and sit down in relief.

"Mochof hodness (thank you love)." Lexa says giving me a small kiss on my cheek. We begin to eat when Raven had asked why we were in my mom's room. I talked about Dani's situation and how I came out to my mom about Lexa and I.

"Wait so you guys are going to adopt Dani? Awww I knew you guys would be great parents." Raven proudly says with a grin on her face. Me and Lexa blush as we look at each other.

"Well not exactly adopt, but to take care of until someone wants to adopt her." Lexa say.

"Ohh I get it, still the same thing but whatever." Raven presumes. "So when are you guys going back to Polis?" Raven says while stuffing her face with chicken.

"We're actually planning to go back tomorrow." I respond.

"Tomorrow?! Clarke you just got here, please stay a little longer." Octavia says in a begging tone.

"Orrrr, we could come with you." Ravens suggests as she finishes her food. I look back at Lexa and she seems ok with it.

"Yea you guys can come to Polis you'd love it there. If you're willing to wake up early." I respond.

"Omgg yes! I get to spend more time with you and my new best friend!" Raven says in an eagerly excited voice as she gets up to hug both of us. We look at each other awkwardly as Raven hugs us longer than necessary.

"Alright Raven you can get off us now." I say tapping her arm.

"Right sorry." Raven says as she lets go. Lexa and I get up from our seats.

"Where are you guys going?" Octavia asks. "We're just going to talk to Dani about the whole situation." I respond.

"Ohhh ok, bye guys see you tomorrow!" Octavia says, waving bye at us.

"Remember to bring clothes with you and wake up at 8!" I remind them as Lexa and I walk out of the cafeteria to talk to Dani.
