Ren Hakurei (isn't an official Touhou character)

Weapons :

A "gohei" or a purification rod when translated to English. It functions just like Reimu's, albeit much more longer and lighter.

The ofuda, some anti-impurity cards that he and his sister, Reimu, have a ton in their pockets. He likes to use them a lot, and I mean a LOT.

Fighting Style :

Ren uses his gohei/purification rod in the style of Weiss. He can summon ofuda from a portal (with the Yin Yang symbol) to unleash what looks like a danmanku of sorts.

Likewise, he cannot hold on for long unlike his sister who can. He needs some kind of help from the likes of Yukari Yakumo and Suika Ibuki, as well as those like Yūki and Knife.

In terms of using his gohei, he uses it in the style of a rapier, akin to Weiss Schnee's style of fighting. The Schnee glyphs and ice pillar are all replaced by the Yin Yang symbol and a blue barrier. He is also a charge type character, and using him isn't that easy nor hard.

Like his sister, Ren is also able to float. However, he has been known to float even before as a toddler and thanks to that, he is able to completely float out of reality. This, in turn, makes him untouchable as something outside of reality cannot be touched by something in reality.

He can also seem to summon a giant gohei that can deal a fatal damage to those like gods. His own unique ability is to manipulate the future of something or someone. With this in mind, he can easily manipulate the Hakurei Shrine's future to restore the humans' faith in it.

Personality :

Ren could be described as being the most down-to-earth of the 8. This is because he wields the Yin Yang Orbs like Reimu, and the orbs are much just another replica of the Shrine Maidens. He does live with Reimu in the Hakurei Shrine and is currently trying to restore the faith the people of Gensokyo once had in the Shrine.

In terms of cartoonish personalities, he isn't really that much. He could either have the "•v•" face or "-_-" face whenever he is involved in one of Yūki's silly little shenanigans.

Facts :

1. Like Reimu, Ren is constantly being joked about something by the Touhou fandom, and aside from the joke that he and Reimu are said to be poor because they don't get any donations, he is poked fun at because his nipples could be seen when looking at him at certain directions.

2. Another common joke that runs in the fandom is that Ren is constantly being followed by Flandre, Remillia, Patchouli, Cirno and even Suwako because he is the only male aside from Rinnosuke.

3. Unlike his sister, Ren is aware of the Hakurei Shrine God's identity, but never bothers to tell anyone what it is as he likes others to find it out themselves before he tells them.

4. Ren is also a good friend of Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugou and Shoto Todoroki. The same goes for Jay, Knife, Jeerie, Suzuku, Fuji and Jackson.

5. Due to his status as a resident of Gensokyo, he doesn't have much knowledge when it comes to modern day electronics like a computer, phone, keyboard, Television and the like.

6. He is older than Jay, Knife, Jeerie, Suzuku and Jackson by just one year despite knowing fully well that they, along with Raphael and Fuji, are his other selves from other universes. (Except for Fuji because both characters are younger brothers of two Touhou characters)

7. Since his sister is a shrine maiden, Ren is a kannushi. A kannushi is someone who has a shrine maiden as their apprentice in purification rituals, etc. Fact of the matter is, however, he doesn't actually function as a kannushi or Shinto Priest because he is under the influence of his sister and mainly goes out to either restore the Hakurei Shrine's faith or resolving an incident in Gensokyo.

8. Ren can mean "lotus", but in another kanji, it could mean "love" as well.

Backstory :

Ren and Reimu are siblings, with Reimu being older by 2 years. He is a loving little brother and, despite the times his sister ordering him to do stuff on his own like resolving an incident in Gensokyo, he still does what she told him to out of sibling love.

They both currently live inside the Hakurei Shrine and, for some reason, he can easily get through the Hakurei Barrier and travel to the outside world of Japan. In the sense that he has no knowledge of modern-day electronics, his other selves like Jayden Yūki provide him some knowledge of said electronics. He usually goes back to Gensokyo to bring back some outside world food to his sister.

Unlike Reimu, Ren doesn't drink and only likes beverages such as Coca Cola and Pepsi. His favorite food is strawberry shortcake, a dish he is served to by Reimu whenever he resolved an incident with her or on his own. He does, however, know spells like Spirit Sign "Fantasy Seal" and Magic Sign "Stardust Reverie".

Relationships :

Reimu Hakurei : Ren's older sister, he is now become desperate for money like her. Despite this, it's not as severe as Reimu's desperation for money as he tries to make an effort and goes to the human village to earn money. This does work, however, and he divides his salary; one for donating to the shrine and one for his and his sister's food.

Naoto Kurogane : Ren's husband. They do love each other very much dearly and would never separate from each other, unless both of them are very busy. Kurogane respects his husband and tries his best to give the Hakurei Shrine some donations.

Hakurei God : Ren and Rinnosuke are the only ones who are aware of the Hakurei Shrine God's identity and Ren was able to supply it with faith, thus reducing it's anger on it's waning power.

The Marvelous 9 : Ren does care for all his other selves and would join them in any shenanigans they would come up with, especially Jay's wims.
