The next two days for Draco and Desiree were spent in the guest house or swimming in the pool. They loved staying in the guest house together. It almost felt as though it was a house of their own.
Yesterday, Desiree's legs only hurt with a sudden movement. Today, however, there seemed to be no pain as she stood from her bed, well, the guest houses' bed. She looked at the clock on the bedside table, which told her it was about nine-thirty. Draco was still sound asleep in the bed.
Desiree quietly made her way out of the guest house and up to the main house to say good morning to her parents before they set off for work. The house, however, was empty when she walked inside. She found a letter folded neatly on the counter, which read:
Desiree,
Your father and I were called for another urgent task. We left during the night but, we should be back before Draco leaves Saturday morning. We'll be sure to write to you if anything changes.
-Mum
Desiree was thankful for her mother letting her know about their new task for the Order. However, it made her a bit anxious. She could tell things were changing in the outside world now that everyone knew Voldemort had returned. Nonetheless, she quickly threw the note in the bin. Hoping that Draco wouldn't ask about it. She hated lying to him, but she knew it was for the best with this.
She quickly began brewing tea and making her mother's Spiced Apple Cinnamon muffin recipe. After mixing up the batter and sticking the muffins in the oven, she poured herself a cup of tea and began silently reading at the counter while they baked.
It felt like no time before the timer dinged for her to take the muffins out. She quickly rose from her seat, grabbing an oven mitt from the drawer, and took the muffins out of the oven. They were baked to a perfect golden brown color. Just as she placed the pan on the stovetop to cool, she felt a pair of cold hands snake around her waist.
"I missed not waking up with you by my side this morning," Draco's chin rested on her shoulder, causing her to feel his breath warm her neck.
"I was trying to catch my parents before they left for work, but they wrote me a letter saying that they've been called on some urgent thing for work. And that they might not be back until tomorrow morning," Desiree turned her head to look into his eyes.
"Did they say where they were going?" he asked, lifting his head from her shoulder.
"No, just that they wouldn't be back tonight," she turned her body. Her back was now pressed against the counter by Draco's body as her arms wrapped around his neck.
"So, what I'm hearing is. . . we have the entire house to ourselves for the day," he smirked mischievously.
"So we do," she bit her lip, her gaze moving to his lips.
"How are your legs feeling?" his eyes fell down her body, then back to her eyes.
"Just shut up and kiss me," she teased.
Draco quickly connected their lips, her back pressed harder on the counter, causing her to wince from the pain. Draco must have taken notice, for he lifted her thighs, hoisting her up on the counter. Her legs locked around his body as his lips began trailing down her jawline to her neck. She threw her head back in pleasure.
"Where to darling?" he mouthed in her neck before kissing her again.
"The guest house," her breath hitched. Draco lifted his head from her neck, making eye contact with her as he winked, helping her off the counter before they both walked eagerly towards the guest house.
