When Friday rolled around, and everyone was leaving the school building, Steve had made his way over to the Camaro to talk to Billy.
The Californian was waiting for his step sister when he noticed Steve.
"Hey pretty boy. You okay?" He asked.
"I was... wondering if... you'd want to maybe come over tonight..?" Steve replied, clearly nervous.
"Oh- yeah sure. Yeah I can come over," Billy smiled and watched as Steve nodded, telling him to be there at 8:00. He then walked off as Max approached the car.

"What was up with that? Steve finally accept you? Dustin told me about what you did for Steve in the locker room. I think he gets it now," Max said as she got in the car, grinning up at Billy.
"Yeah..? Maybe..."
And then the Camaro sped out of the parking lot, a wide smile on Billy's face.

———

Steve had been waiting for Billy, patiently. He had been talking to Dustin about how nervous and weird he felt.
"Steve it's gonna be okay, man. Billy takes real good care of Max now. And I'm sure he'll take care you you."
"I don't know, Dustin... being so venerable around him like that... around anyone! It's kinda scary..." he sighed.
"I know you'll be okay. Trust him. See how it goes tonight. If he does anything wrong then you'll know." Dustin encouraged.

"I guess you're right..." Steve replied when there was a knock at his front door. "I think he's here- gotta go Henderson." With that, Steve hung the phone up and opened the door, seeing Billy standing there.

"Hey Hargrove..." Steve greeted as he let the younger male inside.
"You can call be Billy, ya know," the blonde said as he stepped inside.
"Right- sorry... Billy."
Steve was already feeling nervous as he shut the door, willingly letting Billy into his house.

"So- what did you want to do?" Billy asked.
"I was thinking just a movie... s-see how things go...."
"A movie? Sounds perfect. Whatcha got in mind?"
"Uh- ummm.... Fox and the Hound...?" Steve replied and almost immediately regretted it. He thought Billy would laugh at him for such a childish answer, but Billy just smiled and nodded. He went over to the couch and sat down, telling him to 'go ahead and put it on.'

And Steve did so. The kids had always laughed when he suggested to watch it and just picked out a movie they'd wanted to watch instead.
But now he got to pick the movie.

Steve sat down next to Billy and did his best to make himself comfortable. The movie started to play and Steve smiled. It was one of his favorite movies...
"You got popcorn?" A voice said.
He looked over to Billy and nodded slowly.
The blonde then got up and went into the kitchen.

While he was gone, Steve wrapped himself up in a fluffy blanket. He was smiling as he watched. He could smell the popcorn and hear it popping too. It made him feel safe and calming...

Billy was then coming back into the living room, a bowl of popcorn in one hand and two cans of soda in the other. He handed one can over to Steve and set the bowl down on the table in front of them.

The brunette softly thanked Billy and opened the can of soda. He tried to stay comfortable as he reached towards the table for popcorn. Billy seemed to notice that the little was struggling to grab a handful, so he picked the bowl up and handed it to Steve.
The older boy looked at Billy and offered a thankful smile as he started eating from the bowl.

The movie went on and the bowl became empty with the cans of soda discarded. Steve had scooted close to Billy at some point. He was actually snuggling up the blonde. Had tossed the blanket around both of them and just watched the movie happily.

Around the end, Steve had let out a small yawn. Billy could tell he was becoming tired now, though it wasn't really that late.
"Hey bud... how about we get you to bed?" Billy offered as he glanced down at Steve, who just shook his head.

"No... no- I'm okay," the little yawned as he sat up. "Not tired... no..."
"Aww it's okay, Stevie. You can tell me if you're tired. It's okay.." Billy said and watched as Steve shifted around for a moment.
He then asked if he could be carried to his room, which Billy easily agreed to.

He lifted the little into his arms and made his was up the stairs.
Steve surprisingly loved being carried. He was wrapping his arms around Billy's neck like he had done earlier that week.
"You alright there, Stevie?" Billy asked as he walked into the bedroom and set Steve down on his bed.

Steve nodded and sat on his bed. He rubbed his eyes and watched as Billy sat beside him.
"You alright...?" The blonde asked.
"Yeah... Umm... I just..."
"Wanna go into little space, huh?"

Steve sighed and nodded. He was clearly extremely embarrassed about admitting that. He had never willingly gone into little space in front of anyone before.
"Go on, big guy. I'll keep you safe."
With that, Steve nodded and took a deep breath. He closed his eyes and let himself relax.

———

Billy watched as Steve opened his eyes and looked over at him.
"Hey buddy. You feeling okay?"
The brunette seemed to be a little hesitant for a moment before replying, "daddy...?"
"Yeah big guy. It's me. You feeling okay?" Billy asked.

Steve let out a small giggle and climbed onto Billy's lap. He hugged the younger and nuzzled his shoulder, clearly happy with Billy being there.
"You're such a sweet boy. Hear me? I'm gonna keep you safe..."
Billy started playing with Steve's hair. Messing it up and ruffling it around. That made Steve giggle and gently swat at the other's hands.

Billy had no idea how adorable Steve could be. He just needed to protect him. Keep him close and safe and never let anyone harm him.

"Alright Stevie boy. Let's get you ready for bed."
