Part 21: Merge

"What did you do to me?" Jo said as she wakes up, "sissy's up." Kai turned around after he heard Jo yelled, he stood in front of Jo, "what, you can't muster a hello after not seeing me for 18 years?" He said with a smirk, then she turned to Liv, hoping she could free her, "look, you need to get your magic back, so you can merge with Kai, we don't have a choice, dad will try to kill you again eventually, and you had 18 years of freedom, you and Kai should be the ones doing the merge instead of me and Luke." Then she took out the knife that Jo stored her magic in, Kai took it from Liv, stabbed Jo's arm leading her screaming in pain, then he stabbed her arm again, Luke tried to stop Kai, "stop it you are hurting her!" Luke yelled, then Kai grabbed him by his collar and pushing him against the wall, "I've tried to kill you when you brain was the size of an acorn, who said I won't do it now." Then he let Luke go, "whatever I am not watching this." Luke left the cemetery, "soooo dramatic." Kai said as he turned back to Jo who is bleeding on the ground, "alright sissy, let's try this again." He kneeled in front of her, before he could stab her again, "stop, I put my magic in there by choice, taking it is also my choice, unless I bleed to death, which will happen in the next 30 minutes, wouldn't it be ironic, if you accidentally killed me before the merge ceremony?" She looks at Kai, "that won't be a problem." Kathleen said as she is resting her back against the wall, she bit her wrist then vamp sped to Jo, "see, all healed." Kathleen gave her a fake smile, then Hope suddenly ran to the outside of the cemetery, slapping Luke's phone on the ground, "really? snitching to Damon?" Then she dragged Luke back inside the cemetery, 'he tried to tell Damon about our plan." Hope explained.

"Our deal is off." Kathleen said, clenching her jaws, "I swear I didn't know about this." Liv said turning to Hope, Hope stood there not knowing what to say, she knows if she doesn't say anything, her sister and Kai will kill them, including Liv, but what if Liv is screwing them over, Kathleen saw her sister is struggling, "fine, if he tries anything one more time, I will rip his heart out." She warned them, then she turned to Hope, "you and I, outside now." She said then start walking, Hope is following her, "more family drama, sure it's nice to be around families for the holidays." He smirked.

"Do you really trust her that she won't set us up?" Kathleen turned around asking Hope, "well she doesn't seem like she has a reason, I mean, she doesn't wanna merge with Luke, and this is her only chance to do that." Hope answered, she looks at Kathleen, "please, just don't kill her or hurt her ok, I really like her." Hope added, "yea but if she tries anything, I doubt that Kai won't slaughter her, so you better make sure that she is not secretly plotting against us. It's not like I don't want you to be happy, I just need to make sure you are safe, you understand?" She looks at Hope, after a few moments Hope looked up, "yea I get it, I don't want anything bad happen to you either, but I don't think she will do that, and I will make sure of it." Hope said as she patted Kathleen's shoulder, "we should get back there. I think I just heard something." They vamp sped back to the cemetery, Jo got out her chains, Kai turned around looking at Kathleen, "she is merge ready now." Kai explained, "so when are you two planning to merge then?" She asked, "two days later, another eclipse, then we will merge." Kai said to her, he suddenly turned around to Jo, she jumped a little, "you better not do anything sneaky again, maybe this time I would rip out something more important, a tongue, or a heart." He threatened Jo, "well guess I will see you around then." Hope smiled to Liv, "yea." Liv tried to put up a smile, she's terrified, of Kai, of her dad, who knows what her dad is gonna do if he finds out what she's been doing, "hey don't worry, I will keep you safe alright?" Hope put her hand on the side of Liv's arm, "yea, thank you." Liv smiled at her, "text me if you need anything and you know where to find me." Hope raised her eyebrows, Liv's smile got bigger as she feels more relief, then Hope vamp sped outside catching up to Kathleen and Kai.

"Never thought you are into witches, always thought you are more into hybrids, Hope." Kathleen makes fun of her sister, "let it go already, cry me a river." She said sitting on the backseat looking outside the window, "you know if you asked me, I am not against it, and fun fact, Luke is bi as well." Kai suddenly starts to drop truth bombs, "are you?" Kathleen said her eyebrows looking at him, "no I am just gay." Kai said, "well now you are blocked." Kathleen fired back, "but seriously though, you two are cute, you should ask her out tomorrow night." Kathleen said to Hope, "no it's too weird." Hope said, "no it's not, stop looking for excuses and have hope, Hope." Kai said, "look, I know I'm a semi sane person, and as a semi sane person, I think you deserve happiness too, and you look happy when you are around her, so just ask her out." He added, Hope gave up, "ok fine, I will do it."
