I want Daddy back

Lyndy , Katie and Parker watched as a cab pulled up to Heartland.

" Daddy! " yeah Katie excitedly as she ran into Peter and jumped in his arms"

Perjure botched contently as the situation unfolded well at least she was until she heard the sobs of her baby sister.

Parker, Katie and Peter all rushed over to her.

" what's wrong  lyndy? Asked Parker Softly as she hugged lyndy  tightly.

" I want Daddy back my daddy" said lyndy through her sobs "

" we know baby we know" Ted Parker sympathetically.

" Katie can you go find Auntie Amy? " Asked Peter.

" okay I'm on it" said Katie.

Katie walked into the barn office to see Amy working.

" Angie in you need to come here quick" said Katie

" what's going on is everything okay? " asked Amy concerned

" no  lyndy's crying " said Katie.

" is she hurt? " Asked Amy

" no " said Katie.

" okay where is she?" Asked Amy.

" outside we are playing with Chalk in the driveway" said Katie

Amy walked outside to see her daughters hugging each other tightly.

" thank you Parker" dad Amy acknowledging Parkers helpfulness.

" what's wrong sweetheart ? " Asked Amy.

" I want Daddy back" said lyndy.

" oh sweetie I know you do I do too it's okay" said Amy softly.

" Mommy I think I'm a mean person" said lyndy through tears.

" no sweetie you such a kind person " said Amy hugging lyndy .

" why do you think you're mean person? " asked Parker Softly.

" because it made me mad" said lyndy.

" what made you mad sweetheart?"  Asked Amy.

" when Peter and Katie hugged why does everybody else get a daddy and not me not fair" said lyndy angrily.

" oh honey come here that doesn't make you mean person" said Amy.

"You're right it's not fair and it's okay to be mad mommy still gets mad sometimes" said Amy.

" you do? " Asked lyndy.

" I do because it's not fair" said Amy.

Amy looked ask Peter.

" I know this is a lot to ask can you maybe take Georgie and Katie somewhere else for the day? " asked Amy.

" of course Katie go get your sister will go get ice cream?" said Peter.

Even though it has been a year and a half Ty's death  lyndy was just now getting old enough to get it and therefore was in her own process of grieving.

Amy  lyndy and parker walked into the house

An hour later

Lyndy sitting on the couch looking at her Brooks and cuddling her daddy bear (her  bear with Ty's voice in it) with tears rolling down her face .

"Hey lyndy  why don't you come  help parker and  l bake the cookies '?" Asked Amy.

"No thank you ''   said lyndy sadly.

"Can I show you something ?" Asked Amy .

"Yes "said lyndy.

"Okay come here " said Amy softly

Amy  led lyndy over to the window.

" mommy there's nothing out there it's just the rain" said lyndy confused.

" do you why it's raining? " Asked Amy softly.

" no do you?" Asked lyndy.

" Daddy's sad you're sad" said Amy.

" so he's making  the sky cry from heaven?" Asked lyndy.

"Well I don't want to make Daddy sad " said lyndy.

"Maybe if you smile he'll give us a rainbow and you know what comes after a rainbow" said  Amy..

" yep it means sunshine " said lyndy smiling.

" there's that smile I love" said Amy smiling.
