ASTRID SAT DOWN NEXT to Wild Card, the boy ignoring her. "Hey," Astrid whispered. "Sorry for laughing at you earlier. It's just that when I tested my powers, I set my stuffed animal on fire as well," Astrid said. "I still mourn the death of Fluffy," Astrid said somberly.
"Really?" Wild Card asked her, seemingly happier.
"Yeah," Astrid said. "But I know you'll be able to hone your powers."
"I've been trying for years, it's impossible," Wild Card scoffed.
"With that attitude, it's going to be impossible," Astrid said, rolling her eyes. She turned her eyes to the screen. "Holy f-fudge," Astrid said, as Marcus Moreno dived into the attack.
"It's all up to Marcus Moreno and Reese Lorenzo," one of the news reporters said.
Astrid refused to watch her father get captured. "He broke another promise," Astrid said to herself. "How many is he going to break?" she whispered to himself.
Astrid listened to the president speak, tears clouding her vision.
It sounded like Neil Anami was a pre-recorded message. Astrid noticed that he didn't even look once at the note that was handed to him previously.
And then, Ms Granada said nobody leave their seats, Astrid immedietly got up. "We've gotta get out of here," Astrid said. Nobody listened to her.
The kids chattered amongst themselves, while Missy was trying to get everybodys attention. "Uh, exscuse me?" Missy said louder, standing up.
"What?" Wild Card asked, annoyed.
"We need to get out of this room right now," Missy said.
"Only been trying to point that out the last five minutes," Astrid muttered.
"Why?" Guppy asked.
"Because, the aliens know where we are," Missy said.
"And they're going to come for us next," Astrid finished.
"How could you possibly know that?" Wild Card scoffed.
"Well, one, this seems like a laid out trap," Astrid said. "Don't you find it odd that our parents weren't ripped up to bits? If the aliens wanted to take over earth, they would start with the Heroics, and the aliens easily took them. Wouldn't they want to immedietly get rid of the protectors of the planet? I think this is a carefully laid out plan. Second, there are no cameras in here, and only one way out. If this is truly the safest place to hide, then Heroics headquarters is not safe at all. Three, there's a traitor somewhere in Headquarters. The Aliens most likely know where we are, and are coming for us, because we have powers, wich makes us the major threats."
The rest of the kids listened to her, keeping Astrid's points in mind.
"Can I borrow this?" Missy asked Ojo. Ojo gave Missy her iPad.
"And Ojo's powers isn't being a genius drawer," Astrid said. "It's that she can see the future." Astrid stood next to Missy as she showed them Ojo's drawings.
"Ojo drew these," Missy explained. "Facemaker standing on top of floating chairs. Noodles smashing the exercise ball."
"She draws what she sees," Wild Card said, clearly unimpressed. Astrid's eyes flashed silver, glaring angrily at Wild Card.
"She drew these things five minutes before they happened," Missy said. "As Astrid said, her superpower is that she can see the future, not that she can draw."
"Okay, cool. Good for Ojo," Wild Card said. "What's your point?"
"I'm going to ask you nicely, once," Astrid said in a sickly sweet tone. "Shut up," her voice hardening.
