I head over to Layne's room and knock lightly on the door. "You ready I think we're leaving in a minute," I push open the door.

"Yeah," Layne pulling a shirt over his head. He turns around and his eyes go wide. "Wow," he says looking at me, "You look different."

Heat rises to my cheeks, "Is that good?"

"Yeah it is," he smiles. Layne doesn't look to bad either. He's bearing a red polo shirt with kaki shorts and his big white shoes. I smile up at him, "Now let's go." He takes my hand intertwining our fingers. My heart starts pounding as we get closer to the others. My mind has a million things running through it. Jemma told me a lot. Even gave me a list that I put in my back pocket. I won't need to look at it though, I memorized it.

One, stay by his side the entire night.

That should be easy, I was planning on that anyways. It's the other four I'm worried about. "Um Layne. I should tell you something," I say stopping us right before we would reach the others. "Jemma told me what I need to do to make sure my dad, you know, gets the message," Layne nods telling me to continue. I pull the list out of my back pocket and unfold the crumpled up paper handing it to him. Layne silently reads it. I wait for his reaction for some of them. As he reads further his eyes grow wider. I would think it's because of number four.

Four, have him smack your bum at least once.

I swallow. Suddenly I have this feeling this isn't right, that we shouldn't be doing this. "Are you positive you want to do this Eli," Layne asks.

Am I? Am I ready to no longer be daddy's little girl. For him to get mad at me for everything. I sigh and nod, "Yes I want to do this." Layne nods and we head out into living room. All eyes snap our direction considering we were the last to join everyone. "So where are we going tonight," I try and break the awkwardness.

"The fancy place on the beach I can't remember the name though," My mom replies smiling at me. As for my dad he's glaring at me anger clear in his eyes. I guess that means it's working. "Well let's get going people," My mom pesters ushering everyone out of the house. Outside there is a rather large limo waiting for us. Inside I sit next to Layne and Alana.

The ride is silent and awkward, which is unusual for all of us.

Finally the awkward ends when we reach the restaurant since Louis thinks he sees a pigeon so he freaks out saying Kevin over and over causing Kevin to get a little angry. "What dad I'm right here," Kevin says. But Louis keeps shouting chasing after the 'pigeon'. "I hate it when he does this," Kevin mumbles heading into the restaurant mumbling to himself.

Layne looks at me and then we burst out laughing. That's the first time that's ever happened around us. We head into the restaurant together and take a seat at the large table they had preset for us. There is twenty five of us all together. I feel bad for the waiter.

The two of us take the end seats, well the kids take one half of the table and the adults get the rest. I glance over the menu my dad keeps glancing angrily down at me. The waiter comes and we all order, most of us a lot of food, since well we are growing kids we need our food. There's water sitting on the table already along with straws. I smirk and grab one of the straws ripping off the paper. Quickly I seperate it into tiny pieces and stick them all in my mouth. I lift the straw up to my mouth aiming at the waiter. Layne looks at me and his eyes go wide as I spit the tiny spit ball at the waiter. We both laugh as the waiter turns around looking for his assalin.

I nudge Layne underneath the table and he follows my lead. Soon the waiter's back is covered in spit balls, and he doesn't even know it's us. "This is great," Layne says locking his eyes with mine.

"Pretty much as good as it gets," I reply.

Layne shakes his head, "I can think of something to make it better."

"Oh really? What would that be," I take sip of my Coke.

"Popcorn and a movie," Layne winks at me and I laugh.

Then I think about it, "We could do that when we got back to the house you know."

"Like a date?"

I nod and Layne smirks grabbing my hand that was resting on the table. My dad's gaze finds mine and he is furious, I just shake it off. He's going to have to get used to it quite frankly because I like Layne, a lot.

After dinner and a little party downstairs, Layne and I had done offically everything on the list. It obviously got my dad ticked. Most everyone was going upstairs so I decided to pull out the big guns. Layne was standing by my side smiling at Alex about something when I saw my dad walking towards us. Making a split decision I pull Layne into a quick kiss. It suprises him a good amount judging from the expression on his face. He's smiling but his mouth is shaped in a perfect 'o'. I chuckle, that's why I didn't tell him that. I wanted it to be a suprise. "I'll meet you in the tv room in a little," I whisper in his ear running up the stairs.

Sorry it's kind of short but I didn't want to go into the entire date :)
