Kai had now been in jail for six months all together and today is the day for a new sentencing,he could only hope he wouldn't have to be in Jail any longer.He missed Desmae,Pristine,Prissy and Abella Birthday,the official one year since his and Benny incident,Christmas and all of this made him feel worse

His first date two months ago he was charged with aggravated battery and now they are going for another court date supposedly having more evidence on him

Kai also figured out that all of this was just to tarnish his name even more,the victims mother hired all sorts of press to be there for the day

"All rise court is now in session,Judge Ina presiding.....now be seated"The Baliff started off everybody stood up and when the judge came in they sat back down

"Good morning,ladies and gentlemen.Calling the case of the people of the State of New York versus Santiago Carter"The judge spoke looking around the courtroom at everybody who is there

"Case number 9 0 1 7 8 9,are both sides ready?"The judge started off reading Kairos case number then questioned both Jordan and Bob who are the lawyers in the case

"Ready for the People,Your Honor."Kais lawyer spoke first

"Will the clerk please swear in the jury?"

"Will the jury please stand and raise your right hand?"

"Do each of you swear that you will fairly try the case before this court,and that you will return a true verdict according to the evidence and the instructions of the court,so help you,God?Please say I do"

"You may be seated.We will start with opening statements starting with the victims side"

"Your Honor and ladies and gentlemen of the jury,the defendant has been charged with the crime of aggravated battery the evidence will show that the attacker is violent and has a history of doing this.The evidence I present will prove to you that the defendant is guilty as charged"Renelds lawyer,Bob spoke up first while Kairo sat in a chair on the other side handcuffed looking down at his feet

"Your Honor and ladies and gentlemen of the jury,under the law my client is presumed innocent until proven guilty.During this trial, you will hear no real evidence against my client.You will come to know the truth about Mr Carter Therefore my client is not guilty"Jordan spoke up next sounding confident like always when he's done speaking he turns to tap Kairos shoulder

"Pick your head up"He whispered to Kai in his ear of course Kairo listens picking his head up looking around the courtroom

Latrell...or Trell was not only a witness to this fight but many of Kairos fights being Trell is a junior in school he looked at Kai as some type of big brother so they were always around each other
