"YOU WHAT?" I screamed.
"We um...lost them, sir." An older greyhaired man said quietly, slowly. Almost as if he was of afraid of what was to come. He should be. The men that stood on both sides of him had their heads hanging down in shame.
"You're telling me that, kids, of all things, brought you to your knees then just...disappeared."
"Yes sir," he spoke with renewed courage."
"I seriously doubt it," I said blankly reaching into a dresser and glancing upon a .44 caliber pistol. I whipped it up aimed quickly and pulled the trigger. The older man teetered, looking down at his chest as a blotch of blood slowly began to grow. The light in his eyes slowly faded and his expression, dumbfounded. He crumpled to the floor in what felt like slow motion. All them men stared at him the back at me.
"You!" I shouted pointing to a man with a strong, young stature, teen, black hair, and our youngest operative. He gave nothing but a look of pure dread in his chilling black and white eyes.
"You are my new number two. Now, as for the rest of you, pick up this garbage and dispose of it," I commanded.
"Yes, sir!" They saluted in unison.
"Erin, stay here. I have a job for you" I turned to my number two.
"Sir, how do you know my name?" He spoke standing with perfect posture.
"I know everything about you. I know that when you were five you wet your pants in front of your whole class, and I also that you were going to ask the girl you had had a crush on since 6th grade to be your date to prom, but didn't have the guts. You gave up on love and now here you are," I stated blankly. His posture sunk just like the words in his head.
"How...h-how do you know so much about..." I interjected his sentence.
"I keep tabs on every one of my employees. You, Mr. Rider are no exception." I was getting somewhat annoyed now. He nodded slowly as if he felt slightly betrayed by this inception of his privacy.
"You are to come with me because as they saying goes: If you are to do something right it is crucial that you are to do yourself."
"But sir, these children have found their powers and are learning to use them as we speak. How are we going to capture them without getting ourselves killed in the process?"
"Elementary, Mr. Rider, I have a personal relation with one of the teens, and by nightfall tomorrow they will be within our grasp.
