Last words.

I got a page from Temperance book and wrote what I wanted my family and friends to know in case we didn't make it out.
"Who are you writing for?" Jack asked
"Angie, Billy, my aunt in Virginia, Spencer..... god first Mike now me."
"Who's Mike?" Temperance asked
"He's.... he was a friend of ours when we went to Caltech. He was shot by some people who were robbing the gas station he worked at."
"I'm sorry to hear that." He told
"I probably would have been shot as well if Spencer didn't stop me from rushing in."
"My mother died and I didn't know about it for a long time. I only found out when we were going over bones." Temperance told
"My mums been MIA since I was 12. So I understand that."
"Both my parents are dead and I'm the only one left in our family." Jack told
"You know I always thought I was gonna die by being shot from a case gone wrong."
"Well we won't be dying from lack of air." Temperance told as she had the jumper cable set up across my dashboard.
"Can this possibly work?" Jack asked
"I'm not really an explosives expert...but the dash might shape the charge enough to blow out the windshield. If we're less than 4 feet beneath the surface, this charge could blow us to freedom."
"Yeah that's accurate." I stated knowing they gave me a confused look "you guys forget I'm a weapons expert in things."
"And if we're buried more than 4 feet deep?" He asked
"Then the concussion will turn our brains into jelly."
"Well, then we can run for Congress, so it's a win-win."
"Also accurate."
"We should get as far away from the explosion as possible." She told
"I already am." He told as he extends his hand to her. "Care to join us."
She took it and climbed into the back with us and I let out a breath.
"Ready?" She asked as Jack got the two wires.
"Yeah. I'd say so." I told.
"Yeah. Dr. Brennan. It's been a privilege." He told as he extends his hand to her.
Instead she hugs him and holds him tightly, and they brought me into the hug, and we all could see the fear in all of us.
"You know. In all honesty, if I was gonna die, in my car underground, I'm glad it's with you two who I've spent Christmas Lockdown in cause of your idiot mistake Jack."
"I was waiting for you to bring it up." He told before releasing a small chuckle.
"In all seriousness though. If we do die and it's a high chance we will. I'm glad it's with you two."
"I feel the same way." Temperance told
"Same here." Jack told before we all held one another close.
Jack prepares to connect the two wires that will cause the airbags to explode. We all let out a shaky breath before he slowly put them together...
