Chapter 20: Before the Mission

After their talk they headed towards me telling me everything I have to know about my dad

Then we headed back, Everyone was quiet I wouldn't blame them, Their discussing things that happened before my mom and dads death

Once we were back, the three of us captains were summoned not long after our arrival

The three of us went to the office and was met with Erwin, Commander Pyxis and one more Commander who I didn't bother to know the name

Levi brought out the Serum, My eyes widened looking at it. I can't believe there was still the serum in Levi's hands, I thought it was crushed by rod Reiss

"Sorry we're late" I said leaning into a table looking at the serum that was laid onto the table

"So, have we discovered what's in the container?"

"The thing is, With our technology we can't dig any deeper" Hange replied, "like we've heard from Eren and Historia, It seemed to originate from some sort of human body fluid... However it vaporizes when exposed to air making it analysis difficult"

".... It's rare" I said barging into Hange's explanation, Their eyes all went into my fingers whose looking straight into the box

"What do you mean rare?"

"This serum is Rare to people, it's considered to be Titan Spinal Fluid... Typically if once injected to it, You must have someone who can shift into a titan eat it.... But getting that power is rare" I explain to them, They all looked at me curious how did I knew

"How did you knew?" Levi asked me raising a brow at me, I shrugged and pulled my sight away from the tiny box

"Memories" was the only thing I said, everyone's gaze went back to the tiny box

"If that's the case, Instead of tampering with it, we should use it to achieve our current objective" Commander Pyxis said

"But who do we entrust it to? Erwin to you?"

"No, I am no more than a wounded soldier. This box belongs with one of our elite soldiers who has the best odds of survival" Erwin replied putting his arm at his other shoulder

"Levi, Would you keep it?" Erwin asked as he turned to Look at Levi, and to say he was caught off guard with this question

"If it's an order, just say so. Why even ask the question?" Levi replied more harshly than he ment to

"We can't predict in what situation we'll have to use this" Erwin replied bringing his gaze back to the tiny box,
"We'll be relying on you, to make the decision on fly"

That's pretty harsh.... Making that decision is a burden to the shoulder....

"Can we trust it to you?" Erwin asked again, Everyone was quiet for a moment

"If this dream of yours comes true, what will you do then?" Levi asked Erwin

"I... Don't know... I won't know until it happens"

"I see.... Alright then"

"Ill do it" Levi finally said as he reached for the tiny box, closing the lid and putting it on his pocket

"By the way, I like to unveil the work of my soon, have you given it a thought?"

"You still haven't given up on that? If the public saw that repulsive display, trust in the military would hit rock bottom"

I looked around the room while they chatted, I noticed that Levi wasn't paying attention to the conversation as he was thinking about something

It's probably the responsibility about that serum....
