Your POV:
It wasn't a quiet day let's say. I said the "Q" word and that's when everything goes wrong and becomes hectic. And that's what happened. It was very busy and a lot and I mean a lot of rescues to do. I swear I rescued the same person twice but who knows. The sky was unfortunately grey but the temperature was just right for a day like today.

One person who I haven't worked with for ages in my cousin Ryan aka Whippet. The man, the myth, the legend. The two of us are close and basically grew up together and never went a day without seeing one another. Hoppo hasn't put us on shift together for a while which was strange but it's nice to be back with him again. Let's say the two of us are the jokesters and like to pull a lot of pranks so maybe that's why? Who knows. Anyways, we have to be professional with this which we are but it's kinda hard sometimes.

The two of us were sat in the rhino waiting for our next rescue. It won't be long till the next one no doubt. In the corner of my eye I saw a small crowd begin to gather. I tried my best too look and noticed someone going under. My heart began to race so I took no chances even if they weren't and grabbed my board heading out into the water. The waves crashed against my board as I paddled out to the person. I got closer noticing it was a teenage boy but as I literally got to him he went under and didn't pop back up within seconds. No not today. The only option was for me to go under and get him which I did so I got off of my board and swam down to grab him.

I managed with my strength to pull him up above the water. It felt like I was under for ages. Luckily surfers from close by helped me with the poor kid. I got back on my board and dragged the kid onto mine. Ryan was standing there with a radio in one hand. I did the arm pump 3x so they knew it was serious.

Ryan's POV:
Y/n got out of the rhino and ran into the water paddling as fast as she could. I watched her go but luckily one of the others was out there near her to help. Thankfully she got to the patient, not sure in time but when I saw her go under my stomach dropped. I was so nervous for the both of them, my heart was beating fast. I grabbed my radio quickly.

*Whippet to central... not sure if you have eyes on the certain part of the water but y/n has gone under with what looks like a youngster. Is there back up*

My heart was racing, hoping to hear back soon.

*Will is in the water now and near y/n*

Was what was said making me sigh a little. After what felt like an eternity, y/n was back on her board with the youngster. I saw her arm pump 3x and I immediately knew this wasn't looking good.

Your POV:
Will came to my rescue and was also the one who helped pull the boy up. I did swallow some water as I started to cough a bit but I managed to get to the guy before he was long gone. Harries came by on his board, same with Jethro. Harries helped Will while Jethro got by me. "You ok y/n?" Jethro asked. "I just swallowed some water." I said coughing after. All of us got the poor boy back to shore as soon as we could, bringing him up away from the water.

Harries' POV:
We carried out CPR immediately as he went unconscious when he was under water. This isn't the first time I've seen something like this before. Luckily when we got back the defib was there waiting for us. We placed the patches on the teenager's chest waiting for a reading. So young to be having this done. The defib shocked him when it had too and a we carried on CPR after, being instructed by.

An ambo was called the minute I did those 3 pumps in the air so luckily the paramedics were on their way and shouldn't be that far away hopefully. Before we knew it they arrived and got to helping us work on the teen. We worked on him for a good 20 minutes with the ambo crew until one shouted, "He has a pulse!" That's when things went by quickly. He was rushed off into the ambo and on the way to hospital. Let's all pray that he recovers from this.

As they left my attention turned to y/n, this was her first proper time dealing with someone and something like this. Hope she's ok.

Your POV:
I felt useless just standing there doing nothing. I wanted to help so much but they knew what they were doing. I really do hope he recovers from this as we're all trying our best to save this poor kid. He's too young to go. He's got his whole life ahead of him.

I felt a hand being placed on my lower back snapping me out of my thoughts. I looked up seeing Whippet standing next to me. "Harries is concerned for you." He mention. "I'm ok, I promise." I said coughing. I know I wasn't as I swallowed a load of water but this isn't the time to worry about me. "You really don't look good y/n, how much water did you swallow?" He asked. "I'm not sure but I'm guessing a lot." I said before coughing again. "You need some oxygen." He added as he held his radio to his mouth.

*Whippet to central... we need some more oxygen down here for y/n, she's swallowed a lot of water and maybe an ambo as well*

*Central to Whippet... Wally is coming down with it now*

The oxygen was soon here. "My head really does hurt not going to lie." I mentioned placing my hands on my head. Ryan placed the oxygen mask over my head and over my mouth/nose for me. I smiled softly instead of speaking. "This should help." He said with a small smile. A load of the guys who were down here helping the teenager was soon standing around me. Ryan was reassuring me while Harries dealt with the crowd. "Let's get you up to the tower away from everyone." Ryan said as him and Jethro helped me up and onto the back of the rhino.

We soon reached the tower and got all of us inside. The ambo that was called soon arrived. They did their obs on me, once they were happy with everything they got me loaded into the back of the ambulance. They suggested it was best for me to go due to the amount of water I swallowed so I wasn't complaining.
