I am currently chomping on my cereals while reading for my exams in my house. I have invested my hell lot of time to research and make notes for my new book as well as for my exam. Suddenly, the doorbell rang making me wonder who would it be at almost midnight. I got up and went to peep through the see-through hole of the door and almost gasp out loud saying his name. "Aiden!"

I don’t know what came over me, either excitement of seeing him again or just to lash out at him for showing up at a very awkward timing, I open the door for him but before I could say to him anything, he beats me to it, "Emma, we need to talk." I just look at him as his eyes travels my whole body but before it could fall on my chest; he averts his gaze from me. "I just want to clarify things."

I nod and let him enter, I gestured him to sit on the couch and he does exactly that with his gaze down. "What do you want to talk about?" I ask him.

He looks down rubbing his hands continuously as if he’s nervous I would lash out at him any moment. "Emma I couldn't understand why you are pushing me away. I thought taking things slow will make you feel comfortable with me but my one mistake cost this mess between us." He looks at me in the eyes when I didn’t respond him. "Yes, us." I sighed and looked down as I don't know what else to say so he continues. "Emma, I have never been into someone else the way I am into you and I don't know what is the reason."

"You can't feel anything for someone just within a one night, Aiden." I state.

"That's why I wanted to spend more time with you, didn't I?" He's right somewhere and so I nod him to continue." I know, I can't control my shit but I never meant to hurt you in any way."

"Aiden, you have never hurt me, you just scare the shit out of me sometimes. With you being around me, I will always feel like that." He looks down again and now I can clearly see he's still upset. I say, "It's been months, Aiden. Why are you here now?"

"One month, three weeks and two days." I blink my eyes in disbelieve.

"You counted?" I ask him and he nods.

"I was counting for not bringing you back in my life, I kept on counting the days just to know how long I can live without…” He rubs his face and continues, “hell knows how bad I wanted to drag you but a gentleman doesn't do that and I am trying hard to be one."

I chuckle softly to which he looks blankly so I composed myself. "Then why are you here?"

"Because I can't think anything else than you. Your rejection cost me mind, my mental state, my conscience... everything." He says desperately.

His desperation is toxic, I shake my head at him in denial. "Aiden, you really need to see…"

"A doctor? Yeah, I think I might but can he give me you?" He asks sternly, I shift in my sit uncomfortably.

"Aiden, please." I object.

"No, right? Then, I won't go to him I would rather try my luck here with you." He sighs looking at the ceiling.

"What if I say you ‘no’?"

"I will try, until you say yes. I want you; you want me. There’s no reason to stay apart." He states casually as if the words meant nothing to him but now, I know, this is his way of showing affection.

"How do you know, what I want?”

"I know that you want me, just like I know I want you and my want for you is not only physical attraction but it's so much more than that."

"Does that kind of wanting have a term?" He opens his mouth to answer but again he shuts, he closes his eyes and then stays mute. "This is what I am talking about Aiden, you yourself don't know what you want from me."
