Latibule- A Hiding Place; Place Of Safety And Comfort

"I'd like that..."

Hanging my apron up and taking my coat, I walked out of the bar with Levi and Kenny Ackerman.
The little boy seemed to have gotten tired as he yawned and leaned on Kenny. Kenny smiled and stroked Levi's hair, turning to me.
"You ready?"
"Yep, I'll lead the way," I say, walking towards the door with Kenny by my side, and Levi in between us.
The little boy held on to Kenny's coat as he waddled, occasionally bumping into me.
"I'm going to drop you off at home, okay Levi. Go to bed." Kenny said, picking the little boy up and walking to a building.
Kenny set the boy down and rustled his hair and whispered something to Levi. Levi nodded and ran off to the building, which I guessed was their home.
Kenny smiled and turned to me, tilting his hat. Holding a soft giggle, I shook my head. Kenny walked up to me, sending me his side smirk.
"Ready, kid?"
"I thought you didn't want to leave Levi alone?" I asked, starting to walk, with Kenny following me.
"I'm only going to be gone for a short while, unless you want me to stay the night," Kenny flirted.
A blush spread on my cheeks as I shook my head again, facing down.
"I'm not like those other girls you spend your time with, sir," I said, stressing the sir.
"Oh, so we're breaking each other's promises now," Kenny smirked.
"You broke it first," I shot back. Kenny laughed and gently pushed me with his shoulder.
Smiling widely, I pushed him back. Kenny did a little fake hurt scoff, before he took his hat off and placed it over his heart.
"Oh, how you hurt me, (Y/n). I trusted you and you wound me. I am but a bird whose wings you have clipped, and you watch as I splutter across the busy street," Kenny whined.
Laughing at him.
"You should be a poet," I said.
"Screw that," he laughed, taking my hand and squeezing it. " I'd rather be a prostitute." Laughing at him, I squeezed his hand back.
"You'd cost too much."
"I would! Have you seen me? I'd be the finest man you've ever slept with!" Kenny laughed.
"I hope you don't say things like this in front of Levi," I said, eyeing him in a teasing manner. Kenny stopped talking and tried to suppress his smile.
"Well, a swear comes out every now and then... every few seconds maybe..."
"Kenny!"
"What! He's a kid!" Kenny protested.
"Exactly, Kenny! He's a kid! He shouldn't be hearing those words, especially from you," I retorted, elbowing him.
"(Y/n), he lives in the UNderground. And I'm Kenny Ackerman, Kenny the Ripper, or whatever people call me now... he'll have to get used to words sooner or later." Kenny shot back, slowly shifting to a soft smile.
SIghing, I nodded, squeezing his hand that I still held. Looking ahead, I saw my apartment. Turning to Kenny, I smiled.
"This is my stop," I said. "Thank you for walking me home."
"Anytime, kid..." Kenny trailed off, staring at the street.
"What's wrong this time?" I teased, gently pushing him with my free hand. Kenny smirked as he looked back at me with his silver eyes. He leaned into my ear, his breath hot on my skin. Sending shivers.
"It was only a short walk, maybe we could go a little further, before you leave. I know a nice spot, where you can see the sky." Kenny whispered, leaning a little bit further away to where our noses were barely touching.
Blushing, I looked away and nodded.
"I'd like that a lot. Lead the way."
"Yes, ma'am," Kenny said triumphantly, and he began to drag me.

Kenny had dragged me off to the edge of the city. There were no filled buildings, and the lights were only lit in the distance.
"I thought you said you couldn't leave Levi for long," I said as Kenny finally slowed down.
"He can spend a few hours by himself," Kenny said, turning to me with his half smile.
"So then why'd you bring him to the bar?" I asked, squeezing his hand and lightly pulling us to a stop.
Kenny stopped and stared at him. His side smirked and began to slowly slide into a soft one. His eyes lightened and he shrugged.
"I guess I had something to prove to myself."
And he pulled me into a little entrance in the wall.
"Where are you taking me?" I asked, begging to get worried. If I thought Boros was going to kill me, why didn't I think Kenny would? I knew for a fact that Kenny murdered people, but, as far as I know, Boros never had.
Walls, Sahida was right, I am crazy.
"Just a little while longer. It's right in front of us, can't you see?" Kenny pointed out. Leaning to the side, I could see a gentle blue light on a... tree?
"We're here," Kenny whispered as we entered a cavern. The ceiling was wide open showing a waxing gibbous moon and a glittering of stars. On the floor a small pond surrounded by water grass and trees littering randomly across. There was no order to the nature found, but it was beautiful compared to anything in the Underground.
"You like it, kid?" Kenny asked, nudging me. Turning to him in awe I nodded.
"It's... it's beautiful..."
Sighing happily, I pulled myself and Kenny towards the pond and began to giggle. I sat down and tugged on Kenny's hand to sit down with me.
"Come on, let's gaze," I whisper, not wanting to break the peaceful comfort. Kenny nodded, rolling his eyes.
"Sure kid."
We laid in silence as we stared at the stars. This was why I trusted him. He took a week of my life, and made them feel like thousands of years of perfection.
"I think I'm in love," I whispered. Kenny shot up and stared at me.
"What?" My eyes widened and I shook my head.
"N-no! I meant this place! You know, th-the stars! I'm sorry I know I'm weird I just- I'm sorry!"
"Jeez kid," Kenny sighed, lifting his leg up and leaning on it, softly whispering to the point I could barely understand. "Don't raise my hopes up like that."
"I-I'm sorry could you say that again?" I asked, hearing him perfectly, but wanting him to repeat it. Kenny rolled his eyes.
"It's none of your business, kid. Love isn't something you should throw around like that, is all." Kenny growled, a light blush dusting his cheeks.
Softly smiling at him, I pulled my legs to my chest.
"Thank you for taking me here," I mumbled. Kenny smirked at me and nodded.
"Levi likes to come here a lot. His mom would always come here with him," Kenny trailed off, looking up at the moon.
"Were you.. Close to her?" I asked. I wanted to know who she was to him. I wasn't jealous because the way he spoke about her meant she was gone. But I still somewhat got pangs when he brought her up.
"Not really. I wish I was, but I took her for granted most of the time," Kenny sighed, laying back down on the ground, arms crossed.
"How so?"
Kenny sighed, squinting at the sky.
"I would never really listen to her and ignore her unless I was told otherwise. I didn't even know she was dead until my father told me I had to go see her. That's when I found Levi, curled up on the other side of the room, skinniest boy I've ever seen. Looked sick, almost. Turned out a fever got her, because she couldn't eat, couldn't make enough money."
Kenny rubbed his eyes before turning to me.
"I was the worst brother in the world. At least that's what I'm trying to say, anyways."
It was his sister... I was jealous of his sister... His dead sister...
He lost his sister and he blames himself...
I went on my knees and sat in front of him, looking at him with tender eyes.
"All siblings do things they regret. You weren't a bad brother, you were a normal one. Especially here, in this place. I wasn't the best sibling either. I left all of my family to live in a dump with my uncle. If you think you''re bad, then what am I?"
Kenny stared shocked for a few moments before sending a quick chuckle at me.
"Well, to the worst sibling in the world!"
"To the siblings that tried," I countered, laughing at the manic.

Walking me home, Kenny had kept his usual smirk on. He kept sending flirts every few second, especially the cheesy ones.
"I wish I was cross-eyes so I can see you twice."
"I must be in a museum, because you truly are a work of art."
And other horrible one liners that always had me blushing and shouting back.
"Mr. Ackerman, we had a deal!"
Or;
"Sir, I'd rather not."
Until finally we reached my home. Standing at the doorway, Kenny swayed on his feet.
"Can I help you, Mr. Ackerman?" I teased.
Kenny stared at me. His grey eyes sparkled and his smirk became more gentle. Sending a soft low chuckle at me, he tilted his hat.
"I hope you have a nice night, kid. Don't have too many dreams about me." Kenny winked and turned away.
"What an idiot..." I cooed, turning to my home and walking in, locking the door as I slide to the floor... squealing.
