Chapter 1: What The Frick!

Me andy best friend Maya we're walking down the hall talking.
We had just gotten out of math class. I'm really surprised that I didn't die, because Mr. Chance is the worst teacher ever!
"Can you believe Dave broke up with Darcy? Crazy right?" My friend asked me.
I looked at her with a smile and fake gasped.
"No way!" I pretend to care.
We both giggle and open our lockers. I grab my Chemistry book and walk away waving to Maya.
I make my way down the hall and into the Chemistry room.
Everybody is talking and or making out...Ew🤢.
Anyway I sit down and open my book to page 147.
The teacher gets everyone to settle down then the lesson starts.

"That was sooo tiring!" Maya groans.
Before I can answer or put my books away two of the schools 'bad boys' come over to me with their typically annoying smirks on their faces.
"Hey baby!" One of them says.
I roll my eyes and attempt to ignore them.
Then the other one slaps my butt and I yelp.
"Leave her alone!" Maya growls at them.
"What's your problem babe?" They ask her.
She growls and slaps them.
They look at her and me dead in the eyes and grab our throats.
I couldn't breath.
Before you knew it this tall, handsome boy came over and kicked them in the guts.
"Oh, it's just the local nerd...how cute?" One of them coos.
The boy huffs. "Don't hurt them!" He yells.
They laugh and punch the guy.
A crowd had formed around us. They were cheering on the 'bad boys'...typical.
The guy clutched his gut beneath his wool sweater.
He groaned and got back up.
He punched the guy who was messing with me-Ethan. Mark-the other one who had messed with Maya had backed off into the crowd.
I didn't recognize the man who was defending me tho.
He had dark brown hair, brown eyes, tan skin and freckles...it made me blush.
He was kinda cute.

Once I was home my mom ran up to me. She gave me a bear hug then looked into my eyes.
"You won't believe it!" She squealed happily.
"What?" I ask suspicious.
"We're going to Canada to promote our business! Inst this great?" She asked.
"I'm guessing I won't be coming along?" I ask with a sad sigh.
"No, but! You will be staying with Dana!" She says with a smile. By that time my dad had come in with a cup of tea.
"WHAT THE FRICK!" I yell out of breath by the time I'm done.
"She has an adorable son!"My mother says cutely.
"Are you trying to set me up?" I ask with an annoyed look.
"No...!" She laughs nervously.
"Ok...sure..." I look at her before responding again. "So when are you two leaving?" I ask.
"In 2 days..." My dad chips in.
"WHAT THE FRICK!" I repeat.

After taking a quick warm shower I get dressed into a white crop top and grey sweat pants.
I decided to read a book since I haven't done that in a while.
I cozied up under the covers and drifted off.
