Sonic the Hedgehog: Nazo Unleashed - The Novelization

Act 1: Chaos Assasult

Hiya folks. AzureSiege2001 here. While I'm working on my next original FanFic, I thought I'd treat you to the 'novel' version of Chakra-X's "Nazo Unleashed". It is by far one of the best cartoons you'll ever watch on the net. Ever!

Legal Stuff: I don't own any of the Sonic characters (they're owned by Sega) or the original Nazo Unleashed (that's Chakra-X's).

Oh, and if Chakra happens to come across this, you rock man!

Act 1: Chaos Assault

Location: Angel Island

Time - 10:37 am

The morning sun was shining and the birds were chirping. It was just another bright, beautiful, and peaceful day on Angel Island.

Angel Island is a landmass that floats high in the sky using the eternal energy of the Master Emerald; without it, the island will inevitably plummet from the sky. The island is inhabited by various and is also the home of Knuckles the Echidna, who is the guardian of the Master Emerald and the only surviving member of the that once inhabited the island.

Knuckles is an anthropomorphic echidna with red fur that covers most of his body, peach skin on his muzzle, a white crescent-shaped patch of fur on his chest, and purple eyes. He also has seven dreadlock-like spines on his head and a medium-sized, tri-crooked tail. For attire, Knuckles wears red and yellow shoes, each with green cuffs and a grey, sextuple-bolted plate on top. He also wears large, white, mitten-like gloves with sock-like cuffs and two spiked knuckles on each hand.

As Knuckles dozed off for a second, the thoughts of his destiny began running through his head.

Knuckles: As far back as can remember, I've been living here on this dark island, always guarding the Master Emerald from anything that can harm it. I don't know why I was given this job, why it was my fate, destined to be here... forever.

The thought of being the guardian of such a powerful entity always filled the crimson echidna's heart with pride, and this was no exception. As he dozed, Knuckles sleepily looked towards the Master Emerald's altar.

The massive Green Emerald sat pride of place atop the altar. Surrounding it were seven pillars, one of which was being used. These altars held the seven Chaos Emeralds. Only the Cyan Chaos Emerald was currently on Angel Island. The Green Chaos Emerald was currently under the watchful eye of Shadow the Hedgehog. Its Chaos powers helped to boost the Ultimate Lifeforms Chaos Control technique, allowing him to teleport further than under his own Chaos energy. The five remaining Emeralds had been scattered the last time Sonic and Shadow had transformed to defeat Dr. Eggman.

It was while glancing over at the altar that Knuckles noticed something rather odd. The Cyan Emerald was on the ground, having seemingly fallen off its stone perch. As Knuckles got up to replace it, the gem began to glow. A light erupted from the gem. When the light died down, a mysterious hedgehog stood next to the emerald. Knuckles had never seen anyone emerge from a Chaos Emerald before, nor did he recognize this intruder.

Knuckles: Huh? Who are you?

Standing on top of the Master Emerald was a thin anthropomorphic hedgehog with pale blueish-white colored fur that covers most of his body, arms, muzzle and front torso, and emerald-green eyes. He has six long quills on the back of his head flowing upwards (similar to Super Sonic), two spines protruding from his back behind his shoulders that resemble wings, and a short tail. For attire, he wears two light-weight, hyper friction resistant red and blue sneakers with white cuffs around the ankles and gray soles. He also wears a pair of white gloves with sock-like cuffs on his hands.
