Chris and I were waiting by the door after Mayra said that she would just going to take a few more minutes to pack. Yeah right. The girl in never on time for anything. I am tapping my foot impatiently and just loud enough, so she could hear it with her Vulcan hearing. Chris is annoyed too because every second that passes his lover gets further and further away from him. I let out a very exaggerated and loud sigh, so she could hear how annoyed we were.
"That's not making me hurry up any faster" she yelled down to us! I rolled my eyes and Chris dropped all three of his large suitcases on the ground with a large bang.
"If you don't get you ass down here in the next two seconds. We are going to leave you here. Do you understand?" He shouted at the staircase. I watched the grandfather clock in our hallway move its hands of time and after two seconds have passed. Chris picked his suitcases back up and walked out our glass door allowing the sunlight that was setting behind the trees shine in. It was a beautiful light that caught the inside of the house and all of it's wood furnishings in a way that made it seem magical. I just stood there waiting for my friend to finish packing as my other friend stood by the car. You maybe on of the oldest creatures in the world and think that you have seen everything. But every now and again something would happen and catch you by surprise. Like the beautiful colors of sunset coming into your house and making it seem alive. Then you see you friend hurling herself down the staircase and which ruins the moment. The story of my life.
"Ready!" She announced happily, and she sprinted past me to stand by Chris who gave a look that meant he was tired of her crap. I nodded to him, punched the code to the alarm, and locked the house. I unlocked the car and let them pick their seats because in no way was I going to get into a middle of another battle who gets to seat where. And who was older, so they got to pick. This time Mayra didn't put up much of a fight because she could tell Chris was in a fowl mood and I wasn't going to back her up. I threw my bag in the back and used some of my strength to close the hood of my car. Damn who in the world packs this much crap on a road trip. It wasn't like we were sailing around the world again, and if I recall on that trip they didn't even pack this much. I guess times are really changing and I don't think its for the best.
Chris who hated to be in the front helping with directions and who didn't mind sitting in the back and maybe take a nap occasionally, sat in front this time. I am not relying on Chris's navigation because my car is well equipped with all the lasts gadgets, like James Bonds car. Chris is so excited to be on the road that he kept changing the channels on the radio to match his upbeat mood. I didn't have the heart to tell to stop messing with my stuff. However, when he turned the radio to a whiney girl talking about her obsession with her boyfriend, I slapped his hand away and put on Metallica. I love my friend but no way in hell am I going to listen to the bitch complain and whine about boys all the way to our hotel. The drive was long and exhausting when they finally reached San Fran when the sun had already full set and the night life was well on its way. There was a lot of traffic on the bridge heading in to the city and each car we past Chris look at the car's passengers. I could tell that maybe he could see Nathon in one of the cars and we didn't have to go looking for him. The chances were slim of this happening because when did we three have that good of luck.
About of couple of hours of heavy and insane traffic we finally reached our hotel. The valets were nice guys that always seemed to stumble other themselves when our kind shows up. We weren't the most beautiful creatures in the world, but we were more attractive than the average celebrity. I handed my keys to an okay looking bloke and could hardly say a word to me. I just smiled and gave my keys with a fifty-dollar bill underneath. Chris smiled and shook his head because this usually happens to us when we go where people aren't used to us. This guy must be new because tons of our kind say here and some other creatures as well. Boy, this poor guy is in for an awakening. All three of us stayed in the same penthouse in San Fran's most famous hotel. Throughout the course of all of their lives we liked to enjoy the more expensive side of life instead of the economy side. In our perspective if one is going to be a live for many years to come might as well enjoy it with some style. It also wasn't a problem for us because being what we are; we saved up quite a sum of money and made good investments over the years. Also, if any of them ran out of funds they could always just rob a bank in which Chris and I have done before just for fun when Mayra was out with one of her boy toys a couple of years ago. Mayra and Chris also nicked the Hope Dimond and replaced it with a really good replica. Of course, the authorities are not going to tell this to the press because how can they say the most secure piece of jewelry in the world was ripped off and they don't know how. There were tons of people in the lobby checking in and checking out. Mayra and Chris, we off to the side by the elevators while I got our room. I always liked playing with the humans at the desk. It is about the only fun I get to have fun with humans. We can't exactly feed off them anymore. Man, I missed the good old days of the hot sticky blood dripping down my chin onto breast and I feel their pulse slow down to a dead stop with the touch my lips.
