kailani felt sick to her stomach, after so much happiness and excitement from the surf trip she had with two of her brothers and their dad, she suddenly remembered that there was a conversation she and kian were needing to have. thankfully, there were some friends who had just magically happened to arrive at the beach at the same time the egan's were leaving and that was when kian had asked them if they were able to keep the two boys occupied. just for at least five to ten minutes whilst he and kailani had a "big kid" conversation together in the car. and the family lovingly understood and ushered the two boys back over to their car and kept them entertained whilst kian and kailani stepped into their car.

"...kailani, i know this isn't the kind of conversation you would like to have after such a happy and fun day but it's a conversation we need to have now. and, quite frankly, a conversation we should have had ages ago because bug, you're not as slick as you like to think you are. you can never hide anything from me and your mother, no matter how hard you think you can. the only people you can hide it from are your brothers but, even then, i think koa is slowly starting to understand the things that you're going through. and, i think it's scaring him and quite frankly, it's also scaring your mother and i..." kian trailed off as kailani sighed, knowing she could no longer hide anything anymore so she didn't

"...i know and i'm sorry dad it's just...my anxiety. it's been taking over lately and i really haven't been doing well at all but, i just didn't want to annoy you or burden you and mum because you have to take care of the boys. that, i just didn't say anything and i know i should of but, i didn't and now this entire mess has happened and i tried to drown myself and--"

"--hey, kailani, stop it bug! please, you are not a burden and you will never ever annoy your mother nor me! whilst koa, zekey and cobi are also our priority because they're a lot younger, that doesn't mean you're not your mother and i's priority either because you are! i don't care that you're twenty-one and still living at home with us. quite frankly, i'm absolutely terrified of the day you decide to move out rather than when you move out to uni campus *giggles*. because truthfully, the only reason our family stays afloat the majority of the time is because you constantly keep everything in order! but, that shouldn't be your job, you should be having fun and doing the things that me and your mum did when we were in our twenties! i love you, kailani egan, i love you more than i've loved anyone else other than your mum and brothers! if you need me and mum to, we can help you in getting your anxiety under control again just like we did the last time this happened. we can also get your westlife uncles, aunties and cousins to help you as well because we both know that they all would be happy to help, most especially uncle shane and aunty gillian! there is nothing about this that we cannot fix, alright darling girl? this can be fixed again but this time it'll just have to be a little bit more than last time because it clearly didn't work as well as it was supposed to, alright?" this is what kailani meant when she said what an amazing father kian was and it made her smile, nodding her head as she leaned into her dad's chest as they embraced

"uh-huh, we can fix this. thanks daddio, i love you," kailani whispered as kian chuckled as he kissed her hairline

kian then mumbled into her hairline, "come on, let's grab your two brothers and get home, mum and cobi are waiting for us," kailani chuckled, feeling her dad's hot breath on her forhead and hairline but agreed nevertheless

hopping out of the car, the father and daughter walked over to their friends where koa and zekey were still thoroughly being entertained. thanking the family for doing that without any other explanation and having a one-minute catch up, they finally broke away from one another. one family entering the beach as the other one exited.
