Ella woke up with an empty mind, she was trying to calculate the dreams she had last night but it seemed like she had forgotten. She hasn't but it was all blurry to her. She stares at the dining table, not realizing a voice calling out to her

"Have you ever thought about being an Auror after Hogwarts, Ellie?" Andromeda asked, breaking the silence of the girl who had been lost in her mind.

Ella hummed a question as if she was asking for Andromeda to repeat her question but then she caught up and replied before Andromeda could open her mouth to ask again. "I haven't thought about what I want to be yet. I am quite fond of the magical creatures."

Ted Tonks, who was next to Ella said, "A magizoologist? You have been interested in them for a long time now, haven't you?"

Ella nodded slowly still feeling spacing out. She turned back to look at Andromeda, "Speaking about school, I'm thinking of taking Ancient Runes as one of my elective classes." She told them all as she played with her food.

Suddenly Andromeda's eyes widened, coughing from choking water as she placed her cup down. Tonks turned to her mother with worried eyes, "Mum?"

Not being able to speak and still coughing, Andromeda nodded to her daughter, signalling she was alright. Ella on the other hand had her eyebrows furrowed, "What makes you decide to do that, Estella?"

She furrowed her eyebrows for a quick second and was even more confused by the sudden full name instead of the nickname but shrugged it off, "No reason, I just thought it would be interesting."

It was a lie. Ella had been dreaming about odd words written down, it was blurry but that still wasn't the reason why Ella couldn't understand, it was written in Ancient Runes.

"Well, anything peculiar happens, tell me, all right? We don't want last year to repeat." Andromeda said, bringing her mug to her lips.

Ella only pursed her lips together to a small and tiring smile as her response.

...

Ella had insisted Andromeda not to buy her a new wand yet. She was rather liking her life without doing any magic, it felt almost peaceful. Except for her dreams, those were the remaining magic she had despite her wand being broken.

This is what muggle life left like, without magic.

She had lived her life being used to muggle things, taught by Ted Tonks. Except for being magical. When she has no wand to do any magic, she feels like a child again who hasn't had a wand to do magic yet.

The Tonks had noticed Ella being more equitable than before. They did ask but Ella only brushed it off.

Ella still spent her Summer like usual, taking a walk in the park, listening to some muggle bands, staring off in the view at the park. When Tonks got a break from her Auror training, they would do some experiments to style Ella's hair.

Tonks would morph into Ella and change her hair for Ella to choose her new hair.

Ella laughed when Tonks morphed herself which is in her form of a pixie cut but blue hair. "Blue?" She laughed and shook her head. "I'll stay with my hair colour."

It was the one time Ella remembered she laughed after a long break, and it was with Tonks.

"I think blue hair is wicked," Tonks said.

"Not on me though."

Tonks kept the shag layered haircut, though she grew it slightly longer for Ella. Ella decided to keep her natural wavy hair and her curtain-like bangs.
