Konosuba: God bless this adventurers during winter explosion!

Today seemed quieter than usual. Aqua was lying on the couch, taking a little afternoon nap, Darkness was sitting next to her, warming herself by the fireplace while reading a book. Meanwhile I was lying under the kotatsu, enjoying my privacy and savoring the delightful warmth generated by the magical heater that Vanir had included. I must remember to thank him at the earliest opportunity, as ordering this furniture was the best decision I have come up with in this "wonderful" world. Usually my peace would be disturbed by my loud and annoying companions, but today they did not feel like it. Today was the first day of winter, and all night it was snowing so hard that visibility was limited to a few meters. Well, apparently half a meter of snow outside the window can cool down even their enthusiasm.

Winter in this world is a special season. While most of the time adventurers struggle with monsters and perform various(often dangerous) tasks, during winter they spend their time resting(or trying to survive. I still remember my first winter in this world spent in a stable). This is due to two factors. First, there are harsher weather conditions during the winter which puts adventurers in danger. Secondly, most monsters during this period hibernate or emigrate to warmer places, so there is a shortage of quests. Additionally, the monsters that remain are usually deadly, so most adventurers give up and spend the winter basking in the Inn, hanging out with their team members, or healing wounds from previous battles. As you can see from the description above, our behavior was not something strange, but rather something typical. Heh. It's a pity that it's only in such moments that we behave like a normal team.

„Oi, Kazuma!"

Megumin, our team archmage, known for her fanatical love for explosions and considered as unbalanced lunatic by most of the town, entered the room. She was dressed in a red shirt with white sleeves and a bow at the neck. She looked cute, but like every member of my team she had to ruin everything as soon as she started talking

"Kazuma desu," I leaned my head out and greeted her with my standard response

"We didn't do our daily explosion today, so I thought - "

"No."

"He didn't even hesitate... H-hey, Kazuma, what are you thinking? You know perfectly well that if I don't use my power at least once a day"

"And this one pops up again with her chunnibuyo talk... listen, didn't you look out the window today? It snowed and I don't want to trudge through it."

"Fu fu, is it fear that's got you down, Kazuma? A true adventurer doesn't fear any weather conditions and - Hey, get out of there! Is a little snow really such a big deal to you?" - Megumin apparently lost patience when I decided to get back under my warm kotatsu, so she walked over to it and started banging on the countertop while talking this nonsense of hers.

"My adventurer soul was killed at the moment I found out that you have to pay a fee to become an adventurer. Also, not a little, but a lot. A hell of a lot of snow and temperatures so low that it freezes water in the open in seconds. And stop hitting my precious kotatsu or I'll treat you with my drain touch and there will be nothing with your daily explosion."

"Oi, Kazuma!"

"Kazuma is merciless as usual! If you want to use drain touch on someone so badly, you can do it on me! And Megumin, this brute is right. It's very cold, the wind is blowing, and it might be dangerous" Darkness took my side

"D-darkness, you too? What about you Aqua? You're usually in debt. If you want we can take some quest and take down some monster, what do you say?"

"I don't want to. Not that I usually feel like it, but today I don't feel like it exceptionally. Besides, Kazuma lent me some money, so I don't have any problems with cash so far."

"It's really quite sad to look at what you've turned into! A little snow, a little wind, and you're already turning into -" Megumin looked at my kotatsu and sighed loudly - "Well, if you don't want to come with me, I'll go alone."

"Hey, if you faint in this cold you could freeze to death in there, haven't you thought about that?"

"fu fu, could it be that the always cold, perverted, tsundere Scumzuma is suddenly interested in the fate of his companions?"

"No, it's just that if you die you'll have to go get your body, and as I said before I don't want to go anywhere in this cold"

"This guy... argh, okay, like I said, I will go now"

Megumin ran into the changing room, I heard her changing

"That damn loli... ehh, good, then anyone want to go with her?" I looked towards Aqua and Darkness. They both ignored my question and went back to their previous activities. Well, it looks like I'll have to deal with this on my own again

"Oi, Megumin, wait!"
