When I woke, I woke to Ashton shaking me. He was saying something about it was time to leave. It took me a minute to register that we had to leave for my parents.
I stretched and stood up. I helped Ashton up off the couch. "Are they in Ollie's room?" I asked rubbing my eyes.
"Yeah." He replied and I made my way to his room yawning. I ran a hand through my newly redied red hair and opened his door. They were playing with his Lego's.
"We have to leave now.. Oliver get your shoes on, you to Harry." They nodded and left to do as I said. I walked further in his room and started to clean up his toys.
I put all Lego's in the green bin. I picked up his stuffed animals, put his match box cars in a the blue bin, and fixed his race track rug. It'll break my heart when he's older and we have to redo his room so it fits a teenage boy.
When his room was picked up I moved to his closet to grab his costume. He was going as a firefighter. When we bought it, the minute we came home he put it and paraded around the apartment looking adorable in his little boots and hat.
"Daddy?" Oliver said. I turned around and looked at him.
"Yeah?" I answered walking put his room and into the living room he followed.
"Is Max going to be with us?" He questioned as I put his costume on the table to put my shoes on.
Max was my best friend for ten years. We did everything together but then he found out about my crush on him, and didn't talk to me. That is until he heard about Phoebe and Oliver. I think he thought 'Hey, look he is straight after all he has a kid, we can be friends again.' He thought wrong. We haven't spoken in a good year or so. Oliver was three when he met Max, they bonded and my crush that disappeared started to form again.
Now, it is completely gone and is replaced by Ashton. That sounds bad. What I mean is in the year or so the crush disappeared again and I like Ashton now. I'm not saying that Ashton is Max's replacement or something like that, what I am saying is that Ashton is different, he's sweet and polite, he cares for Ollie and his giggle lights up my world because it's just like Ollie's. The best part though is he's gay.
Max is none of those things he i rude and mean and he only wanted me to get Phoebe. Max is nothing compared Ashton.
"No. He isn't, and Oliver, I think you should forget him." I said tugging on my vans.
"But why?" He dug. I looked at the floor.
"Because, I said so and that's final." I maybe a little harsh but I don't want him to get attached to him again if he does show up, because in all honesty I have no clue if he is going to be there. I hope he isn't, if he is that means dead feelings would be brought up again and lost hopes would be found and I don't want that to happen.
"Michael are you ready?" I felt Ashton wrap his arms around my waist his head buried in my neck. I smiled with a little blush creeping to my cheeks.
"Y-yeah. I just have to grab my costume." I answer wiggling out of his grip and walking to my room and in my closet. My costume is of my own creation. I was going as a superhero that Oliver named Mike-Ro-Wave. With my bag in hand I left my room and walked back out to the living room.
"Do you guys have your costumes?" I asked grabbing Oliver's and his coat. Handing it to him, and helping him put it on.
Ashton nodded, "They're in my car. Speaking off your car or mine?"
"I guess mine, because his booster seat is in it already.. Is that okay?" I ask zipping his coat up. Ashton nods with a smile.
"Yeah, let's go!" He walked out the door with Harry and Oliver following behind him. I smile myself and walk out of my apartment, with our costumes in hand along with my keys, locking the door behind me.
