🌃 Chapter 1 - Welcome Back 🌃

Four Years Later
You return home after being in Europe. You enjoyed your time there, but you missed being home with your Friends and Family. You see your mom and your brother Lucas.
Y/N: Lucas, looks at you. You're a preteen.
You go in for a hug.
Lucas: yeah yeah, get off of me.
Y/N: how do you deal with him?
Mom: I don't. He usually goes outside with his friends.
You hug your mom, and she misses your cheek.
Mom: you must be exhausted. Let's get you home.
You all walk outside and take a deep breath.
Y/N: Good to be home.
You get in the car, and while your mom started to drive, you look back at memories from four years ago.
Mom: I bet you're happy to see your friends and Thomas.
Y/N: My friend, yeah, but Tom and I aren't together anymore.
She looks at you, shocked.
Mom: What!
Lucas: But I liked Brother Tom. He was the cooler brother.
Mom: Lucas!!!
Lucas: I was just saying.
Mom: I'm sorry to hear that, sweetheart.
Y/N: It's Fine. I'm just ready to go home and take a nap.
Mom: Well, we're are almost there.
You finally at your new apartment building.
Y/N: Thanks, Mom.
Mom: of course, sweetheart.
Y/N: Lucas, come on, hug me, brotha.
Lucas: Hard pass.
He gets into the car and locks his door.
Mom: I'll see you, tomorrow sweetheart. Love you.
Y/N: Love you too, mom.
You enter your building; you tell the person at the desk your info, and they give you the key to your new room. You take the stairs since the elevator is broken and finally arrive at your new space. It's just a bed, and you instantly lay on it.
Y/N: so cozy.
[Talia: are you here yet?]
[Y/N: yes, ma'am, I'm so tired though I'll see you all later tonight <3]
[Talia: okay, but don't be late.]
You lay down and rest your eyes.
THREE HOURS LATER
You waked up and realized the time.
Y/N: oh shoot, I'm going to be late.
You washed your hands and headed out the door; then you bumped into someone.
Y/N: my bad, I should have watched where I was going.
Tom: Y/N.
Y/N: Tom.
You both stare at each other you haven't seen him in a long time. You wanted to kiss him, but you can't. It's not like that anymore.
Tom: How's it been?
Y/N: I'm good. I just got back today.
Tom: cool.
Y/N: how have you been?
Tom: I been good just landed a new job start next week.
Y/N: cool.
Tom & Y/N: well, I have to head to Talia's birthday party.
Tom: oh, I can give you a ride. I just have to pick up someone on the way.
Y/N: sure.
You both head down into the lobby and head to Toms car.
Y/N: nice car.
Tom: Thanks.
You both get in and be buckle your seatbelts you Tom starts the car and starts driving; you both sit in silence, you finally reached somebody's house. It's beautiful.
Tom: Y/N?
You turn to him.
Y/N: yeah?
Tom: Did you...
Then there's a knock at the window it's a girl. You lower the window.
Beth: oh, your new Hi, I'm Elizabeth, but you can just call me beth.
Tom: Beth, this is Y/N, my umm.
Y/N: his old best friend.
Beth: he must be the one you always on about.
You get out of the front seat and move to the back.
Beth: thank you, y/n.
Tom: you didn't have to move.
Y/N: it's okay.
Tom sighs and starts driving.
Beth: so how long you both knew each other?
Y/N: almost five years.
Beth: Wow
Tom: we used to be inseparable until he went to college in Europe.
Y/N: You said you were okay with it, but after two years, you didn't even call or text me.
Tom: Well, my bad that I was busy!
Y/N: of course, you were busy. You were always busy.
Tom parks the car on the side.
Beth: I'm going to head inside.
She leaves the car and goes inside the building.
Tom: Did you even miss me?
Y/N: of course I did. I loved you, Tom, but you stopped talking to me and broke things off, and I was hurt.
You look at him with tears in your eyes.
Y/N: I was in Europe alone, and I just need you to talk to me. It hurt me to leave you, but going to that school could have improved my future.
Tom: I was busy with school and work y/n I always tried my best to call and message you back, but I can't work out if we're on different schedules.
Y/N: I think we should head inside.
You got out of the car and headed into the building.
Y/N: what a jerk.
Then you bump into someone again.
Y/N: I am so sorry I just keep bumping into people today.
Lee: are you okay?
Y/N: I'm fine. Are you here for Takia
Lee: Yeah, she's my older sister. We were born one day apart.
Y/N: one day apart, twins cool. I'm y/n.
Lee: I'm Lee.
You shake his hand, and you both head inside. Talia rushes to you and tightly hugs you.
Y/N: Talia, it's been so long.
Talia: I missed you so much. Don't ever leave me, please.
Y/N: I'm here to stay.
Talia: thank goodness, so I have something to ask. I need you to give me away at my wedding since my father passed away.
Y/N: I'd be honored.
You hug again, and she looks at her brother.
Talia: I see you meet my annoying brother.
Lee: I'm her favorite brother.
Talia: that's because your, my only brother.
Lee: but I'm sad you never introduced me to this one. He is cute.
Tom comes inside and stands behind you both.
Talia: Tom, you finally made it.
She hugs him, and he smiles. You could tell he was crying.
Tom: I couldn't miss your momentous day twenty-five and still beautiful.
Carlos: aye, you better be talking about somebody else wife.
He hugs each one of you.
Carlos: let's go sit down
You all sit down at separate tables. Carlos, tom beth, and talia sit together, and you and lee sit at another table.
Lee: so you left here. Where did you go?
Y/N: I went to Europe for the rest of my school semester.
Lee: I bet It was fun there.
Y/N: it was. I just missed being home.
Lee: Well, welcome back home, y/n.
Y/N: thanks, Lee.
Lee: no problem.
Y/N: so Lee, how come I haven't seen you until now.
Lee: well, we didn't live around here; Talia would catch the bus to get to school until her junior year. Our moms finally let her move out, so after she moved, she let me stay with her until I graduated.
Y/N: oh, you still in school.
Lee: Yeah, never can get enough education.
Tom and Beth move to your table.
Tom: what's going on over here?
Lee: I was just telling y/n some things about me.
Beth: tell us more about you, lee.
Lee: want do you want to know?
Tom: have you dating anyone?
Lee: I went through a break up about three months ago. We will get caught by his parents, and of course, they disapproved of him, so we broke up, and I'm not sure what happened to him afterward.
Y/N: I'm sorry to hear that.
You can tell it hurt him to say that by his facial expressions and the way his hand trembled.
Tom: I'm sorry I should have asked.
Lee: it's okay. Do you mind if I ask you the same question?
Tom looks at you, and his hand clenched.
Tom: Yeah, I umm loved someone we grew apart.
You and Tom both look at each other.
Beth: Well, umm, I'm going to sit back with Talia.
Y/N: I'll join you.
You and beth get up and walk to Carlos and Talia's Table.
Lee: so Tom, it seems like you and y/n have a history together.
Tom: Yeah, we umm dated.
Lee: I'm guessing you still have feelings for him?
Tom: I-
Lee: because I wanted to ask him out sometime.
Tom: ask him out?!
Lee: Yeah, I think if we got to know each other, we could hit it off.
You get up and headed to the bathroom.
Tom: I'll umm be right back.
Tom follows you to the bathroom. He knocks in one of the stalls.
Y/N: occupied.
Tom: Can we talk like actually talk.
Y/N: can I use the bathroom first.
Tom: sure, sorry.
You finish and exit the stall.
Y/N: so what do you want to talk about?
Tom: Lee, do you like him?
Y/N: I don't know. I barely know the guy; why do you ask?
Tom: I'm just asking.
Y/N: okay.
You walk to exit the bathroom.
Tom: I'm sorry y/n for not telling you how I felt.
You turn to him and take his hands.
Y/N: I'm sorry that I left you for so long without visiting. I got caught up in my work that I didn't make time for us friends?
Tom: Friends.
