It was a weird feeling—having someone wrapped up in your arms, knowing that in a few minutes, they'd leave and it would probably be months until you saw them again.
Neither of them really knew what to say. A few topics came to mind but were quickly dismissed as it wasn't really special enough—in Tessa's mind, at least
Tessa and Finn were sat on a tiny wooden bench on the latter's front porch. Finn had his arm around the small brunette girl, while she rested her head on his shoulder. Not a word was spoken between the two. But the silence was comfortable.
"You know," Tessa finally decided to break the silence, "I didn't think it'd be so hard to leave." She couldn't help but chuckle at how dramatic she sounded—but she just couldn't help it. The two had spent every single day, of the last two weeks, together and things between them have since burgeoned.
And now that they'd be in two different cities, Tessa didn't know how their relationship would continue—or if there was even one to begin with.
"I didn't think it'd be so hard to let you leave." Finn finally replied—just as dramatically as Tessa.
For a second, Tessa thought about asking what would happen to them—would they last or was he just killing time while she was in Vancouver? She hated to think that his intentions were anything other than good, but she just wasn't sure where they were headed.
But, nevertheless, she kept her thoughts to herself; she didn't think a few minutes before she left was an appropriate time to start that conversation. So instead, she took his face in her hands and connected their lips. As she kissed him, she knew she couldn't say goodbye, not when his hand pressed into her back as he deepened the kiss, not when his fingertips grazed over her cheek and not when he pulled away and intertwined their fingers.
