Side Story 7 : How The Mighty Fall - Part 2

The sun that has just risen on the eastern horizon shine on the training ground that morning. Claude's blonde hair seemed to sparkle because of the sun. He always come very early to practice alone at the practice ground so that no one would know. The Emperor is cleaning his large sword so that it could reflect the light.

The sound of footsteps is approaching Claude from behind. A cold aura immediately radiated from his back. He knew exactly who these arrogant footsteps belongs to.

"Why did you come alone? Where's Athanasia?"

"She still needs some sleep. She slept too late last night."

After heard Lucas's words, Claude pointed the sword that he had just cleaned at his daughter's fiancé's neck.

"You slept together last night??"

"That's right. We slept in one bed fully dressed."

Lucas answered Claude calmly. He didn't want to lie. He saw nothing good in telling lies to this Emperor.

"I'll just cut your head off if my daughter gets pregnant before you guys get married."

"Calm down. Your daughter is still a virgin until now. Thanks to me for being the fiance of your naughty daughter."

Claude wanted to be angry but somehow the words of this brazen magician sounds convincing. Ordinary humans will not be able to hold their desire to touch Princess Athanasia who is very beautiful. Luckily Lucas decided to get engaged to Athanasia before more pests roamed around his daughter who each day looked more and more like her mother.

Who dares to approach the fiance of the Black Tower Wizard?

Claude lowered his sword from Lucas' neck after realizing the benefits of having a son-in-law like this madman.

"Does the Emperor now want to test me directly with physical combat?"

Lucas was ready if he had to swing a sword against the Emperor. He had prepared a strategy to avoid hurting Claude while also avoiding an attack.

"....."

Claude raised his right hand and made a slight movement in the air.
Suddenly the ground around them start shaking quite hard, making a long crack in the middle of the training arena.

"What are you doing??"

Lucas jumped away from the widening cracks in the ground. He's floating in the air while watching what Claude is doing on the edge of the ground.

Claude's magic creates a new arena in the middle of the field. A roaring sound was heard from within the earth. Black stone walls rise to the surface of the ground and form a complicated road pattern. The complicated wall extends to half of the forest that leads towards Topaz Palace and the Magic Tower. Claude is not playing nice today.

" Apparently you are increasing the difficulty level of the game huh . I'm impressed, Your Majesty. I already thought your magic was much more stronger than that stupid Aethernitas."

The knights immediately woke up after experiencing a strong tremor under their bed.

"What is this ?? Earthquake ??"

"Hurry up! Get out!"

They flocked out of the barracks where they lived in colorful pajamas.They didn't seem like they had time to change.

"What kind of wall is that??"

The stone wall that appeared suddenly was visible from a distance. Black clouds seemed to shade above it, in stark contrast to the clear morning sky around it.
