Starting outside your window with a calm gaze, you focused on a passing fluffy white cloud, sitting at your desk that you had in your room. Thankfully, you were given the day off from school by Strickler after he saw your messy state yesterday, so you had the day to yourself. You could go for a walk, maybe clean up your room finally, take the day to catch up on some sleep.. you couldn't decide honestly. In reality, you were thinking about what happened the night before. You knew it was real, you knew it. Images of the rock creatures were vivid now, but you remembered the eyes.. those bright eyes as bright as the sun staring you down with intent beyond humane.. it was terrifying. Feeling a shudder run down your spine, you sighed heavily and pushed out your chair to stand up, rolling your shoulders and walking towards your door. You turned the handle and opened the door, stepping out from your private abode to walk down the stairs as you passed a few framed photos of you and your uncle, you were younger in the photos: happy and smiling bright with hair that stretched to your knees. Of course, your hair was shorter now, only reaching to around your lower back now.. you underestimated how fast hair could grow sometimes

There was the sound of metal tinking together from the kitchen, it sounded like someone was washing the dishes. Raising a brow, you slowly walked towards the source of the noise, a bit on edge since you weren't expecting anyone- but as soon as you could see who it was, you gave a gentle smile. "Hey." Your company stopped in his tracks, turning to look at you with a bright smile. "(Y/N)! Sorry for barging in without a wanrin' but I just came ta check on you an' I noticed you had some dirty dishes." Your uncle explained, smiling happily at you with his scruffy beard and fuzzy hair slightly more messy than usual. Walking to his side, you watched as he happily finished off cleaning up your dirty dishes. You appreciated how much your uncle cared about you, he was always willing to help with the smallest things, even with his work and constant travel, he always found ways to support and care for you. Even if you were old enough to live on your own at this point, he's always been there for you. "You didn't have to, Theo. I was gonna do it."
"Oh I know but- I felt like helping you! I hope that's alright sweetie." You couldn't help but smile, nodding. "Yeah no, it's fine thank you so much." You gave Theo a hug, he happily returned the embrace with a happy sigh, gently patting your back- which caused you to wince slightly. "Oh- oh dear I'm sorry dear- are you alright? It's unusual of you to wince like that-" Theo instantly washed away his joy with worry for his niece, bringing your arm up and beginning to examine your body, you shook your head and gently moved his hand off your wrist."I'm okay, really. I just.. had a bit of a fall the other day, nothing too serious." Theo bit his lip, humming quietly before sighing, his soft smile returning to him. "Alright.. just be more careful, alright?" You nodded in agreement. "I will, I promise."

Theo gave you a smile, gently giving your head a pat before walking past you. "Why don't you go and take a look around the neighbourhood? I'll stay here and make sure everything's working right, you go have fun." Theo spoke with joy, you chuckled lightly and shook your head. "I dunno.. I was thinking about it but.." Then you remembered.. the canal.. the monsters.. maybe you could go down and check.. just to see if there were any clues as to what happened the other night, maybe you could figure it out on your own. You knew Jim wouldn't tell you the truth, you weren't sure why, but you didn't feel like bothering the poor boy. You just gained a friendship, you didn't want to break it. "Actually.. yeah, I'll go look around." Theo turned his head to look towards you, nodded, then he walked towards a closet to grab your handbag. You nearly forgot you had one of those. Theo walked back towards you and handed the handbag to you with a cheery look in his bright blue eyes. "Go have fun. I've got everything under control here." You gave a nod in response, Theo giving you a gentle hug before moving himself away from you and walking up the stairs, giving you time to collect a few things from down here. You decided to grab a few snacks, a flashlight, bandages just in case, and a spare pair of shoes. Who knows? Maybe you'll need them. Just before you had the chance to leave, Theo came thumping down the stairs. "Wait!" He called, you stood at the door holding the handle. Your uncle held out his arms, presenting you with a black sweater. On the center, a pattern of an eclipse moon, accompanied by the words 'Midnight Lifestyle'. You couldn't help but chuckle, extending your hand to take the gift with a greatful glint in your eyes. "Thank you so much! I love it!" You exclaimed, Theo smiled and gave a nod. "I thought you would! I know how much you enjoy the sight of the eclipse, so I decided to get this for you!" He crossed his arms, proud that his niece liked the gift he put 30 dollars into purchasing. "I love it. Thank you." You gave your uncle a quick peck on the cheek, he returned the favour and ruffled up your hair. "Go have fun, kiddo!"
"I will!" You said as you slipped on the new sweater and finally bid your uncle farewell, shutting the door behind you
