Yuna walked to school the next day despite her body's protests. It'd been a while since she had run into an evil spirit that had given her that much trouble. Encountering two in one day was certainly unusual, and nothing says 'that'll hurt in the morning' like getting stabbed in the shoulder. But Ms. Chu did a good job fixing her up, and she made sure to thank her when they had gotten back to the restaurant.
Yuna gripped her backpack straps tightly as she walked up the hill leading to the school entrance. She was humming along to Replay, which was playing through her headphones, when she noticed a familiar boy walking no more than a few metres in front of her.
With a mischievous smile, the slightly smaller girl crept up behind the unsuspecting boy, before gripping tightly onto his shoulders.
Mun let out a yelp at the sudden contact, eyes widening as he turned to look at his attacker. He visibly relaxed as his gaze landed on his friend.
"Yuna."
"Don't look so surprised to see me. Even people who were practically brought back from the dead have to go to school. The pay isn't great for counters."
"We get payed?"
"Nope. But I guess being a superhero is kind of a bonus."
Mun nodded in response, smiling slightly, before turning his attention to the students in front of him. Specifically a boy hitting another boy on the back of his head.
"Didn't I tell you it's urgent?"
Yuna glanced at Mun, frowning as she noticed what he was looking at.
Assholes.
"Didn't I tell you?" They could hear the boys say.
Without a second thought, Mun stepped forward, Yuna close behind him.
She wasn't really looking for trouble, but trouble just seemed to follow her around. Also, she was a new student and wanted to last at least a month at her new school. But then again, she's never been the kind of girl to just stand by and watch as others suffer.
Mun grabbed one of the boys by the arm, bending the limb backwards causing the boy to let out a yell. He writhed around but the curly haired boy was unfazed by his movement, instead he tightened his grip.
"What are you doing right now? Didn't you hear from the seniors?"
Yuna smiled as she watched Mun interact with the bully. She couldn't help but be impressed.
"I'll kill you if you bully other kids."
The kid, who was previously holding onto the younger boy's backpack, rushed to his friend's side.
"Hey, it's that jerk who beat up the sophomores."
"What?"
Mun shoved the boy away, the two bullies now gripping onto each-other, looking rather scared.
"Hey, why do you have three backpacks?"
It was Yuna that spoke this time, the four's attention now on her. She took a few steps forward, standing in front of the boy carrying the bags. The boy swallowed nervously, stuttering out a response, "Oh, u-uh-"
One of the other boys nervously stepped forward, with a forced smile, "Give us our bags, Hyo-Cheol. Why do you always lose at rock-paper-scissors? Come on, man."
Yuna rolled her eyes at the boy's attempt to cover up their wrong-doings. Mun seemed to be equally as convinced as he plucked the backpacks from the smaller boy's grasp, proceeding to throw the bags with all of his might.
The backpacks effortlessly soared through the air, landing at the bottom of the hill.
