Chapter 8: Feelings

Ringgg!

"Well well... if isn't the stud! you finally remembered your friend eh?" Excitement resounding his voice yet Anna didn't miss the mock hurt tone.

"James I've been really busy with school... And stuff you know, I'm sorry." Her voice sounding cheery rather than sorry.

James picked up from the tone of her voice that Anna is happy. Some good news might be on the way. He'd know her long enough to know how she feels just by the sound of her voice and even before she started talking a lot. It's a best friend thing. Don't ask.

"..and stuff? does this stuff include a gorgeous blonde with hazel eyes?" James answered teasingly. Anna already mentioned Eva to her friends. And yes, you got it. They didn't pass up a chance to tease her. Telling her she's in denial for liking Eva. And even though she's yet to confess her feeling about Eva, her friends already picked up with the way she talks about her like she's some Goddess of perfection. They wanted to meet Eva, but Anna was good at dodging her friend's attempt to meet the blonde. She knew they're going to barricade her with questions. And at that time, Eva didn't know the truth about her so for her it wasn't just the right time. But now that Eva finally knew about about her secret, she's more confident to introduce Eva to her best friends.

Anna ignored her friends teasing tone and went straight to the point.

"James I told Eva about me. And guess what? she didn't freak out! Well... not really... I mean i don't even know where to start. She's just awesome. I know she'll understand."

James laughed. "Well why don't you start by telling what really happened. I already know how awesome she is so you can just skip that part okay?"

Anna blushed. She filled James with everything that happened during the last week upto the part where she confessed her secret to Eva and their mutual aggreement for a salon visit.

James didn't say anything aside from short 'Aha's' and 'Uh hmmm' to indicate that he's listening. It's an unwritten rule not to interrupt a babbling Anna. So he waited for his turn. When Anna stopped talking. There was silence.

"James are you still there?" Anna was not sure if her friend is still on the line 'cause he haven't heard him say anything when she stopped talking.

3 seconds passed. Then a burst of laughter was heard on the other line. Anna hated it when James does that. She knew her friend is processing the things she just told him and is probably cooking a witty reply just to piss her off. When he stopped laughing.

Here it goes - Anna thought.

"So you actually told her how you felt and she told you she's not gay? Ouch. Well I commend you for having the balls to actually drop everything right infront of her." James said still chuckling.

"Jamesss!!!" Anna whined. She called him for advice and well, to share good news. And how is James making fun of her, it's so him. She should have called Sab. She just thought James can relate as he himself was in a closet for a long time.

But James won't hear any of it.

"Hold it boon! I'm not done, You did the right thing. Based from what you've told me, she seemed to feel the same way. I haven't met her yet so I'm not really sure. But you know, her telling you that she's not gay is not the end of it." James continued.

"You know all of us were straight before we knew we were gay." Anna just rolled her eyes and laughed.

"You know James I'm not even sure if I'm gay, it could just be 'an Eva' thing you know. Maybe I'm not really gay, I just like her."
