𝙎𝙏𝙀𝙑𝙀 𝙎𝙄𝙂𝙃𝙀𝘿 𝙒𝙄𝙏𝙃 relief as they finally reached the junkyard. He paused to look around at the large car wrecks, and assorted scraps. "Oh yeah. Yeah, this will do." He pulled off his glasses. "Yeah, this will do just fine. Good call dude" He said to Dustin, who grinned. They kept throwing the pieces of meat down as they made their way through the wreckage.

They had dumped the meat out of all their buckets in the middle of the yard, when they heard a familiar voice yell from behind them "I said medium-well!" The three of them turned to see Lucas and Max waving at them a few feet away. "Who's that?" Steve asked passively. Dustin didn't answer, he was too busy staring at the girl in question. Max. Steve noticed this, and realized who she was.

"You told her?" Dustin exclaimed. He, Ember, and Lucas were crouched behind an old car, arguing. Well Lucas and Dustin were anyways. Ember was, as per usual, more of a spectator.

"So what?"

"So what?!"

"You wanted to tell her too!"

"Yeah but I didn't, alright? We all agreed not to tell her and to look for Dart"

"Who you conveniently found"

"Are you suggesting that I'm lying?"

"I'm saying that you have a creepy little bond with him"

"Yeah that was before he turned into a demogorgon"

"And you haven't heard from Mike?"

"No."

"Or Will?"

"No."

"Hopper?"

"No! No one is around! Why do you think we're with Steve Harrington? Somethings-"

"-Wrong. I agree. Which is why we need as much help as we can get."

"Dustin, he's right. Max won't tell anyone, anyways." Ember reassured. The three of them turned to peer through the broken car window at the girl in question. "She didn't believe me anyways" Lucas murmured as she heaved large scraps of metal over to lean against an old bus.

"You probably didn't tell it right" Dustin chuckled.

"That must be it" Lucas said sarcastically. "So, we good?" He held out his hand to the other boy. Dustin smiled at him, and was about to open his mouth, when-

"Hey, dickheads! Blondie! How come the only one helping me out is this random girl? We lose light in 40 minutes. Let's go." Steve yelled. He turned to leave, Ember following suite, but when Dustin and Lucas began to walk slowly behind them, he spun around and yelled "Let's go, I said!" only to be met with angry comments like "Alright, asshole! God!" and "Okay, stupid!"

Ember watched as Max struggled with a heavy ladder. She walked over to the other girl, holding out he hand for her to stop. Max watched with a confused expression on her face as Ember stretched both her hands out and carefully lifted the ladder to hover over the bus, manoeuvring it carefully towards the gap at the top, where she lowered it down carefully. Max's expression quickly turned from confused to amazed.

"Oh yeah, I forgot you could do.. that"

She grinned at Ember, who returned the smile. She liked Max. It was almost like having El around again. Except Max wasn't El. Max was a lot blunter, and confident than El ever was. She was different, but Ember didn't really mind. It was nice to just have another girl around to be honest.
