The Child
◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇

We walked in silence together as the child followed in it's floating pod between me and the Mandalorian. Every now and then I would look at the child and smile when he coos at me. What do they want from such a creature? He must've been extremely important.

A sense had came over me, like I wanted to protect this child with even my life but I was in no shape or form to do that.

"Do you have a name?" I finally asked as I looked up at the Mandalorian. His head turned to the side as he stopped walking. He put a finger up as he placed his hand on his blaster, looking around.

"Move!" His said, pushing the child's pod away and I quickly followed it as someone had jump down towards the Mandalorian, swinging their blades at him. I watched as another jumped down and it was now two against one.

One was headed towards us but instantly exploded into nothing.

I looked, noticing that the Mandalorian had shot him with that special blaster of his.

I looked at the child to make sure he was okay. I could hear the familiar sound of the fob going off on the ground next to us. I picked it up and turned to look at the Mandalorian, who only stood there and stared.

The sun had already done down by the time we had reach quite the distance. My attention was always drawn to the kid as he gripped onto my finger, laughing and cooing.

I turned around hearing a slight buzzer and grunting behind me. The Mandalorian was trying to close up a wound he had gotten that I hadn't noticed until now.

"You're hurt.." I said as I got up and made my way over to him, examining the wound. "It's just a scratch." He mumbled.

I opened the tiny bag that hung around my waist, taking out a small container filled with blue goo. "Let me help you.." I whispered.

"What the hell is that?" He asked.

"My tears." I mumbled as I opened the container, dipping a finger in. He fell silent as I opened the fabric on his arm more so that I could place the goo onto the wound.

He winched as the goo made contact with his skin. I felt a bit of weight on my lap as I applied it. I looked down to see the child on my lap, reaching his hand up to the Mandalorian. Once I was done covering up the wound with the goo, it started to close slowly.

"It will leave a scar, it's the best I can do.." I held the child as I stood up, placing him back into the pod.

The Mandalorian sat there quietly, staring at the closed up wound on his hand. "It's not really my tears." I lied to ease his worries.

"..My names- you can call me Mando." He said, looking up at me. "Mando.." I whisper to myself as I gently played with the child's hand.

"I'm Nue.." I responded.

I hear him repeating my name under his mask quietly. Was he trying to remember it? Or was he trying to figure out if he's heard of me before? Whichever it was I liked the sound of my name rolling off his tongue for some odd reason.
